Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

I used to like Last Podcast, but I haven't listened in a couple years tbh, so I don't know what they're like these days. At least when I listened, I was always irritated because Marcus would try to actually discuss a topic, and then Henry would interrupt with a silly voice or something. His antics were funny at first, but got old fast. The idea of a crime/horror podcast that has a bit of a jokey tone is very appealing to me, but I'd rather the topic come first, jokes second, and I felt like Last Podcast was the other way around. The main reason I didn't keep up with it is just that I have a tough time listening to podcasts, and catch myself zoning out every few minutes, it wasn't actually because of them, but I did like what I heard, overall
That's actually the appeal for me.
It keeps the content from getting too fucking spooky and it de-romanticizes serial killers and cult leaders by turning them into goofy buffoons. I don't like their paranormal content much since I just have no interest in that at all.

They were definitely better pre-Spotify. Charles Manson, Children of God, Aum Shinrikyo, Willie Pickton, Ed Kemper, and BTK are some of my favorite episodes of theirs. Shoutout also to the Katherine Knight, Eileen Wuornos, and Belle Gunness episodes.

edit: ben kissell can suck my dick though

I really like TLPOTL. Their new stuff is actually a lot more well-researched and informative while still being entertaining. I honestly do not care if they have TDS because it literally almost never comes up, and when it does it's not for that long, and I can just skip ahead anyway. I also like them because they stopped all their edgelord shit because edgelord shit is for fags, and it just felt like they were trying too hard whenever they did it. Regardless, they still do dark humor, and I actually feel like I learn something when I listen to them.

Also, the Elliot Rodger, Charles Ng, and Minnie and Nannie impressions are still some of the funniest thingsI've heard.
I'd rather have edgelord shit than the constant wince inducing cringe ethnomasochistic TDS tangents derailing the episode

Dude, what episodes of theirs even have TDS? I can't even think of one. My best guess would be the JFK ones, and that's it. Maybe Side Stories, but I don't listen to those because those are really fucking boring.

I don't know if some of you guys have talked about this yet since it's pretty sneaky but a lot of horror youtubers love to use binaural beats in their videos to make it more spooky and mysterious.

Apparently it works(I guess)

Some random examples.
If you have a headphone you will notice it with ease.
If you don't just turn the volume up and you will sense the vibrations

I get that. I haven't listened since the Spotify move, but I remember really liking the Satanism in the Government trilogy, to the point that I listened to it maybe two or three times. I think my disinterest came from 1) Just not having the attention span for podcasts, and 2) Binging a bunch of episodes. It just made the jokes grow stale for me, whereas, had I just done week to week, I'd probably have stuck with it longer. I really should try it again, since I am interested in the subject matter. Out of curiosity, what's wrong with Kissell? Why does everybody seem to hate that guy? Sure, he's no Marcus Parks, but I didn't really mind him

(yeah, it's real)

It means he searched it himself. The clock indicates past searches.
Well that would explain why, Youtube's history stuff has been broken for me for like the greater part of 10 years, maybe only half the time it "remembers" that already watched a video.

This kind of dumb shit only really works for some people, and even then it will only work until the watcher gets used to it. It's like clickbait, it can rope someone in but won't keep them in your audience.

Haven't watched the video yet, but I already solved the mystery. The Yuba County five were four retards and a schizophrenic. They either got confused and lost on their way to crazyville, or the schizo killed them and himself. Then their remains were eaten by bears or hippies.
Kinda...See the weird shit was the cabin they stayed in? There was food there and they could have survived the cold weather if they actually just got lost like theorized and used the place for shelter. In all likelihood the Schizo most likelly was the one who killed them, but theres other oddities to this case if I recall.

I (Who has since watched the video and skimmed a Wikipedia article.) am certain he is responsible for what happened, or at least for how it ended. I am certain of this because he made it through basic combat training. That does not mean he was not crazy. It does not mean he was not stupid. Nor does it mean he had any special survival skills. But, it does mean he was not helpless. That's the one lesson Western armies teach in basic training: You can overcome adversity. He would not let himself or his friends succumb to hunger or exposure, with food and shelter at his disposal, unless he meant to do it.
I only joked about Hippies in my last post, but I think that some patchouli and yeast scented influence could have been at play here. It was California in the 70's, after all. They might have picked up a hitchhiker. A freezing, lost, under dressed, female hitchhiker.
Transient women were a normal thing in California back then. Five guys, retards, with not much access to women... A single girl on an empty road... Maybe someone lost control? Maybe they did not want to go back home, because they were ashamed of what they had done. Maybe they were afraid of what would happen to them if somebody found out.

I guess the simpler explanation is the best.
Got stuck for some reason ditched the car to walk maybe cause they heard heart attack guy screaming for help and the retards freaked out
Somewhere in there Schizo lost his mind , 2 of them died, 3 got to the cabin, Mathias switched shoes and yeeted the 2 retards.
One of them died on the bed retard left cause of the body and died too in the snow.
Then Xenu came to earth passed Mathias through the bridge. Became OT IX, Mathias is now a galactic being, hence why he was never found.

He falls into the text to speech channels but uses one that doesn't make my ears bleed. But Chass covers /x/ content (as well as other stuff) but it's got a lot of that classic horror writing from before 4chan got filled with retards.

His deepsea diver thread is a favorite of mine.
