There was a ridiculous article in the Washington Post today (The Lily is a women's interest section of the newspaper).
"This dad started a swimwear line with his transgender daughter. It’s giving other families hope." [Archive]
These inspiring bikinis have an extra thick lining to hide the outline of the child's penis. The Lily claims the brand is for "trans kids," but it's actually only for trans girls aka boys.

I don't often get creeped out but this text from the website genuinely made me uncomfortable:

The smallest size they carry is 4. In the US we call it 4T. It fits four-year-old children.
Four-year-olds, dude.

Anyway, back to The Lily. They write:
The worst part of this article was "Cathy," an insane parent whodecided noticed her son was genderspecial when he was six.
If Cathy's son goes swimming, his fake titties might fall into the pool which would be literal genocide.
Second, if these mongs are so desperate to go swimming, these problems are easy to solve. There are plenty of padded bathing suit tops and full-cut bottoms out there. If the kid is worried about his dick showing, he can wear double bottoms or a swim skirt.
Swimming is an important skill. The article twaddles on and on about how sad it is when kids miss out on pool parties and aquatic recreation. But Cathy's son is privileged to attend a well-funded school with swimming facilities! The school requires all students to take a weeklong swimming class to learn skills.
Cathy's reaction? Attempt to sabotage the requirement cuz genderfeels.
Cathy's brave little enby does not appear to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. Here are his thoughts on the matter:

I wonder what kinds of bodies designers have in mind when designing women's bathing suits and underwear? Impossible to say.Men’s and women’s clothing are built with very specific builds and body types in mind...This is especially true, many say, for swimwear and intimate apparel.
Citation needed.Trans and nonbinary youths are also bullied at higher rates than their peers, and locker rooms and bathrooms are often the settings for this type of mistreatment, violence and harassment.
The worst part of this article was "Cathy," an insane parent who
Cathy noticed early on that her youngest child was uneasy in swim trunks. During trips to the pool as a Cub Scout, her first-grader was reticent to change in the locker room with the rest of the group.
“They just couldn’t do it,” said Cathy.

First of all, just imagine an actual girl whining about that shit. Her child is 16 now, and Cathy can count only two times her teen has gone swimming since they were 12 years old...One of her kid’s concerns is making sure their breast inserts don’t fall out when they’re in the pool. They’re also worried about swimsuits being too tight below the waist, and not giving adequate coverage when roughhousing or playing with friends...Because finding adequate swimwear has been so challenging, the easiest thing for the family is to avoid any situation involving swimsuits, Cathy said.

Cathy has also been fighting to repeal a mandate from their local school district that requires high school students to take a one-week swimming course to pass physical education.

This little turd doesn't want genderless swimwear. The whole article is about how he wants a pink bikini. So is the "genderless" swimwear of his dreams just bikinis complete with a dick pocket and a 00 cup size? What a story.Mostly, Cathy’s child doesn’t understand why swimwear has to be so gendered at all, she said.
