That once again shows that the american concept of white vs nonwhite is extremely simplified and just doesn't work in other parts of the world. Like how people with even minor territorial and national differences can have very complicated relationships (just look, for example, at how many asian nations dislike each other, despite modern collectivists thinking of people of the same category as a massive conglomerate with the same worldview), or how slavery (aka serfdom) in Europe existed for way longer than in America, but you can't point fingers and blame people for oppressing your ancestors because you both are the same colour. In general, this whole tendency of americanizing the world's history and culture and butting into issues you're completely ignorant about is pretty disturbing to me. Nothing exemplifies it more than them claiming that "white people have no culture". Maybe if are you ignoring the entire continent of Europe and multitudes of countries each with unique customs, languages, cuisine, art and architecture just to make yourself sound cool and interesting, or are you actually so ignorant that nothing and no one exists outside your own country? And not only that, literally everyone has a culture, unless you live alone in an empty room, even those pesky murican whiteys whose culture is so prevalent to you that you now consider it a default setting without even thinking about it. I know I sound a bit 🎩, but honestly the widespread narcissism and willful ignorance grinds my gears so much. Try to at least glance at a world history book before opening your mouth, thankfully that rectangular mirror that you use to bark out platitudes at strangers on twatter can easily provide you one, if you actually bother to look.

What's funny is the "white people have no culture" thing, even if you assume they mean white Americans, is still racist anyway because it puts white American cultural norms as the "default" setting of humanity while otherlng literally every other culture. Literally every human alive has a culture, that's how it works. American culture doesn't stop existing just because you're so entrenched in it you think it's the norm for humanity lmao.

She wasn't always a petty bitch, but I forgot to add it on the original post before adding it in. Pretty sure she was also orginally worshipped as the godness of war and/or seafaring along with love, which further complicates manners before it got removed later down the road to be only known as the love god.

And now DisneyLand/Magic Kingdom is changing their Song of the South logflume ride (Splash Mountain) to remove the Song of the South themes for 'being controversial'. Despite that there no way to tell that, it has been like that, and it fits the theme of the area (Critter Country), Uncle Remus is nowwhere to be found, and its just Briar Rabbit having an adventure throughout the whole ride with other animals. What's replacing Song of the South? Princess and the Frog.
Not sure how to feel about that. But removing a ride's themes that only has animals that isn't overtly referencing to the 'controversial' source is stupid.

Yes, I do see how absurd it is. And, honestly, I don't think this flies even in US. Said POC are way too conservative to accept somebody who looks white into their metaphorycal circle.
I can't remember, when I've first learned that POC means people of color, but till this day I can't understand how it is not seen as a slur, because it's just colored people with rearranged words. Maybe it's because I'm not a native speaker and some nuances escape me. So, I've tried to understand why and found no substantial answer, apart from "language is chainging". Like ok, it was colored -> negro -> black/african-american(logical so far) -> of color. I just don't understand how it works. In what world "people of negro" can be an acceptable term? There must be some rules to the language.
Therefore - de jure. Somebody can use it to annoy some people on the internet. I'd tried it myself I I could draw.

On paper the "wear whatever the hell you want" idea doesn't sound bad. It doesn't affect me in the slightest. But my god, these people do NOT know how to put together a good, flattering outfit.
