A couple of people today have been discussing age of the various talents' roommates.
The JP blogs suspect Sora as Aoyama who’s an amateur voice actress in her early to mid 30s. Though based on the original recruiting which does not have minimum age as requirement hence we have early teenagers members like Matsuri (who just cross into her 20s), Shion and Haachama (currently 18 and 19 respectively) Sora should still in her teenager (either same age as Haachama or Matsuri)
The thing about Sora VA is that she mostly active as Sora vs her VA persona no anime, no VN etc.
This makes Sora either in her 30s or late teen to early 20.
Even if Sora is in her 30s and age is an issue then we have Botan who’s convincing rrat said that she was at least 40s due to professional involve in e-sport management for a decade plus. Not to mention some rrat said that Korone is also in her 30s and a single mother with a kid etc.
The Canine Tooth Youtuber nuked his stuff but from the broken English, he seems to have been a Japanese guy who just wanted people to appreciate Miyasuke (pre Hololive Korone) and uploaded some of her lost "face reveal" NND vids. He probably privated or took down everything because of doxxing issues. He mentioned that Miyasuke had quit for a while but then went back to streaming on NND, explaining that she had gotten married but implying that it didn't work out. He had been a fan of hers from the beginning so I'm inclined to believe his information is more likely legit than not. Given what he had said before he took everything down, I'm guessing Korone is in her early-to-mid 30s, although Miyasuke's Twitter pics make her look a lot younger (but that's likely just due to all of the filters and airbrushing that Japanese camera apps do).
What I've seen on JP blogs about Sora makes it look like she's older and more experienced than the majority of the talents. It would make a lot of sense, since so many of the others look up to her as a sort of model idol, especially if she's worked in the industry.
The pics I've seen of Mio make me suspect she's early-to-mid 30s as well. She's built like a huggable mom. Totally makes sense why the whole "Mio Mama" thing is big.
And the pics I've seen of Botan have me thinking she's probably 30s.
For all of Marine being an "old hag" and stuff, she's probably only a little bit older than those talents in their 20s. Late 20s seems to be the consensus. Then again, some Asian women don't age and she could be older. The pics I've seen, though, have me guessing 27 at the absolute youngest, more likely 29 to 31. She's probably younger than Korone and Mio. Then again, as I said about the cameras....
That's one big rat alright
I've heard absolutely nothing about that and I've seen absolutely no evidence for it, so I'm filing it alongside "Miko was out due to childbirth" in the "extremely unlikely" folder. It is possible, if Canine Tooth's descriptions for his (lost) videos were true and she was once married. I think, though, it would be difficult for her to pull off her schedule if she did have a kid. Then again, that kid would have probably been school age at least, when she started (I think she was on "marriage hiatus" somewhere between '09 and '14 but I cannot recall the exact dates). It is a shame that Canine Tooth took all of this stuff down and I'm kicking myself right now for not archiving it. Regardless, though, I still think it is extremely unlikely and we've had received some sort of evidence by this point.
Are you telling me that HoloMILF was real and i did not notice? what the fuck man, dreams come true
After seeing Korone's and Mio's roommates, I was like, "Yeah, I'd hit that." Some dreams do, indeed, come true.
This reminds me, it was brought up before that Coco was denied by management to collab with EN girls, yet Haachama was able to collab with them even after the Taiwan incident. Since Haato wasn't targeted by antis as strongly as Coco, is Cover afraid of antis affecting the EN side? I know there's that screenshot of antis saying not to target the EN branch and Cover is usually reactive instead of proactive about things like this. There's also the possibility that Coco's manager just has her on a shorter leash.
I got this sneaky suspicion that Cover wants to keep JP and EN isolated from one-another. ID and JP have been integrating more but EN is still somewhat isolated. Haachama being told to leave the EN server, for example, gives me this idea that for some reason, Cover is more comfortable with ID-JP collabs being more frequent but not JP-EN collabs. It is possible that there are business reasons for this, licensing reasons, etc. However, I'm not entirely sure. There's always that suspicion that it is standard-issue
nihonjin-ron ethnocentrism/xenophobia shit but I think that would end up with ID isolated as well, which isn't happening. It probably has to do with fanbases, licensing, wanting EN to get a strong, firm foundation, and not wanting EN to turn out like CN. The only other Holo branch that is more isolated than EN is Holostars, which probably has more to do with fear of gachikois and stuff than anything else.
I'd assume that Cover is still afraid of the anti-spam going towards EN girls, even though it has been several months after this whole shitstorm started, but
With my limited knowledge of the Japanese workplace culture; I believe normally this is the kind of response in Japan for people who rock the boat in this way. They obviously wouldn't want to graduate her not only because she's a big money maker for Cover but because the backlash would've been apocalyptic especially with all the work they've done to branch out into the overseas audiences (with people speculating that this branching out happened mostly due to Coco herself) and with HoloEN just debuting what, like a week and a half before this Incident? They'll put her on the short leash and give her the shitty "basement office" either to break her into graduating "by her own wish" by treating her like shit or she works her way back into freedom through her own blood, sweat, and tears.
I don't think it is fear of anti-spam but I do think there is some small amount trepidation that a sudden faux-pas could result in a big debacle like CN. It's probably a minor concern, though, and not all that big a deal.
They did try to rein in Coco back in early-to-mid 2020 before they realized she is a big earner. They've taken away 3D model's ability to flip off the camera, for example. However, I think the massive fanbase and income she brings in has convinced them to take a more hand's-off approach. She's one of the reasons that they stopped forcing the whole
seiso idol bullshit down all their talents' throats--now it's more a gimmick and the standards are far more relaxed than before.
