General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I probably haven't read enough of the thread, but it seems the overall consensus regarding Ironmouse's health conditions is that it's more likely than not a serious problem? I would have expected a lot more doubt on them here, but I don't see much of that, even the ones that have some doubt stating that it's partly hypochondria related to other conditions.
Others can disagree, but I have no reason at this point to doubt her story about her health.

As for updates, the streaming money is paying for more medication and more treatment, and she's apparently now to the point where she can take several steps with her walker, and eating softer/watery foods like oatmeal.

I don't have VODS available due to being at work but apparently the Strive needle got into Calli deep this morning. She's gonna head into the lab and get better after beinf bodied by dolphins and whales for a half hour.

In other related news, the Simpefficient got in some matches with the winning son this morning as well...and while Roberu never won, he did have a really good time playing with Koe.

So the guy who did the art for Haachama's YUMMY YUMMY video also made this:

I was bored and going through some of the liked stuff from EN members, and I noticed that Ame is actually the one that likes stuff from JP members the most. Compared to usual fanart of themselves or EN fanart (And Calli's Indie/Vshojo stuff). Just found it interesting since when they started I honestly pegged her as the one who would care the least about all that. And here we are nearly 6 months later and I think she has the most JP collabs outside of Kiara. Plus supposedly she's even doing tech support for the other branches considering Moona thanked her for helping her out with some issues she'd been having.

The narrative was “her rant” after HoloEN debut (same with how she orchestrate the whole Haachama nickname) which she create her own training arc for it for content (that girl is a genius of creating content out of nothing). Ame specifically said that there’s nothing prevent JP members from interacting as well as joining the MC server. Not to mention Kiara still need to invite Haachama over and cook her dinner (it was postpone due to COVID spike in Tokyo) unless Kiara forget about it.
Overall, Haachama is currently in the Hololive 1M club and the current storyline is still going strong.
My early rrat about her study abroad in US for university once Rona die down might actually come true. Once that happen, the current EnMa for North America will manage her along with Ame, Ina and Gura for ease logistic.

Interesting, we have the first English Momotetsu stream tomorrow. I've watched a few of the JP members play it but even though I get the gist of it, it'll be refreshing to see an actual playthrough of it that I can understand. Sadly, I don't think the game actually has an English localization though, so the text will most likely still be in Japanese.

Chipping in my 2 cents as somebody who grew up in PH: the best way to keep the toxicity away from the VTuber community is keep them quarantined on Facebook. Thank goodness they can livestream there because I can confirm majority of PH internet can be pretty childish + toxic. Exhibit A: Haachama's stream got raided a few days ago (last week I believe). As much as I'd like to support PH VTubers, I still haven't found one that's right up my alley and there's also that tiny little feeling in me that wants to gatekeep the rest of PH internet from finding out about VTubers.

Then again, it's not as if the cancerous behaviour is isolated to PH internet users, but it's really cringey when you can understand wtf they're saying.
This is why I think Lyrica is making a mistake trying to spread her brand of shitposting to FB. Perhaps her first attempt being copystruck should be an omen.

Petition to have Haachama move in with Watson and establish the HoloHouse - English branch.

I remember subbing to her page precisely because I wanted to checkout PH VTubers as I haven't seen many. Is she worth the watch? What do you think?

And about her shitposting on FB, please God no. Abort. Do not breach FB containment.

As others here pointed out, Haato hated Australia, especially during quarantine, because all her friends were isolated or had moved away. Add to that how cliquish and catty girls can be and she probably had virtually zero friends and therefore her English was never able to develop well. I think a lot of her "bad English" was probably mostly an act, though. I'd seen clips of early Haato speaking English a lot better than her reputation made it seem. That doesn't make her good at the language, mind you. Nevertheless, I think she's definitely improved because the EN fanbase and Hololive EN interactions probably spurred her on to getting better. Her accent is still incredibly thick but she's able to communicate effectively enough.

Otherwise, I broadly concur with Kadmckool:

...except for that last part. I think she hated Australia and so I find it unlikely she'll ever study abroad again. I do hope that she does, but I seriously doubt it.

She comments on their tweets too in a tiny amount of Japanese. It's really cool to see her pushing those streams and taking the barrier in stride actually, while also doing them with members that aren't the majorly clipped ones (outside of Haatochama). . . Roboco, Mel and while many people rag on the Among Us collab, her trolling was a riot even among the JPs from what I could tell. She is doing a pretty good job of representing the EN side of thing to those Senpei as a more purely EN VTuber, while simultaneously marketing the JP side that is under-represented.
Any thoughts on this?
I think her English is a lot better than what she lets on, and that is taking into account some of her flubs like the whole Pepeloni escapade. She has a decent grasp of the language on the reading and hearing front but isn't great at communicating out what she wants. . . which is the singularly hardest part of language learning. Given that she wasn't an outgoing person in Australia, she probably didn't have a lot of opportunity to practice the speaking portion which is why it comes off as is. Still might have been a hit to her pride sure, but if anything I think it just lit a fire under her ass and we will all be better for it.

I completely agree. It might be a longshot but her studying abroad in America for film, editing, and screenplay is not that far out there if this is where her mind is at. . . and I mentioned it earlier, while she can't probably talk openly about current activities, they would make her a shoe-in for any program. The volume of work, income and success. . . a college would eat that up.
Momotetsu stream tomorrow
No one is going to comment on the fact that Reine the corporate princess is going to be playing a game about creating monopolies. . . She'll be disappointed when death-squading your competition isn't a feature.

Edit: And my own personal contribution. Note that this was in English:

To add to this, her host family didn't treat her well too I believe. I don't blame her if she hated her AU experience because of it (even if she says the opposite on stream)

Those were high school days and high school kids are known to create clique and bullying etc. plus her hate for Australia due to the host family.

Culture wise my 2 cents is that multiculturalism will never work anywhere outside of US. Australia is a bad copy paste with how retard the government antics lately. In addition, I still remember “her rant” regarding her dad who many suspect being massive patriarchal like “ I pay for your school so you must listen to me”. Move back to Japan and had to deal with “that”, if it’s true then she will be up and “run away” soon nows that’s she had the finance for it.

The reason I think she might consider study abroad in US especially California (UCLA or San Francisco Arts school) or Texas A&M was due to large Asian Americans demographic over those locations which will make she feel like home plus having an arts media relate degrees will prove useful for her down the line especially if she eventually retire from streaming and move on to management role within COVER (possible).

We don’t know which state in the West Coast Ame currently living in but Haachama could share house with Ame somewhere in California or with Gura in Texas for school purpose. Not to mention if the rrat about HoloEN expand as independent branch logically means they will have pick a place and open their represent office as well as recording studio for it. Calli might also move back to US if that’s happen since there’s no reason to stay in JP with work visa and juggling regular job and streaming.

Texas A&M's Asian student population is largely Chinese. Could be trouble, chief.

I do know there's a decent number of Japanese students, however, probably a couple hundred or so. Proximity to Gura (allegedly) would make some interesting opportunities as well. I just don't see how she would balance streaming and studying at such a competitive university.

I like Lyrica and she has a sunny and wholesome enough personality that she probably could've grown her English Youtube audience even further had she just maintained a far more regular streaming schedule there instead of splitting her time between YT and Twitch - especially in the immediate aftermath of EN's surge in popularity. Sadly, IIRC, the vtubing thing is more of a sidegig for her so her content output isn't that much. I think she does a regular 9-5 job in Canada.

I remember subbing to her page precisely because I wanted to checkout PH VTubers as I haven't seen many. Is she worth the watch? What do you think?

And about her shitposting on FB, please God no. Abort. Do not breach FB containment.

Personality-wise, she's wholesome fun. Streams mostly in English / Taglish (she's based in Canada) but she also does solely Tagalog streams for her Filipino audience. Content-wise, she does A LOT of chatting streams has a very engaging back & forth relationship with her chat.

If you're looking for someone to just play in the background while doing other shit, she's a good choice. She doesn't really stream a lot of games except for the occasional Among Us collab along with her regular Tetris and Arknights streams. I think the most compelling tidbit I got off her is that she has collabed with the ID Gen1 girls and has mentioned that Moona actually invited her to join Hololive ID - which she said she declined, citing her unfamiliarity with ID language/culture but that she'd welcome the opportunity should Hololive decide to expand the branch to HoloSEA.

I keep reading this over and over (much like anything Haachama related in this thread) but is there an actual description of how poorly her hosts treated her, or is it just baseless conjecture to add to the 900 ton pile?
