General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I like Lyrica and she has a sunny and wholesome enough personality that she probably could've grown her English Youtube audience even further had she just maintained a far more regular streaming schedule there instead of splitting her time between YT and Twitch - especially in the immediate aftermath of EN's surge in popularity. Sadly, IIRC, the vtubing thing is more of a sidegig for her so her content output isn't that much. I think she does a regular 9-5 job in Canada.

Personality-wise, she's wholesome fun. Streams mostly in English / Taglish (she's based in Canada) but she also does solely Tagalog streams for her Filipino audience. Content-wise, she does A LOT of chatting streams has a very engaging back & forth relationship with her chat.

If you're looking for someone to just play in the background while doing other shit, she's a good choice. She doesn't really stream a lot of games except for the occasional Among Us collab along with her regular Tetris and Arknights streams. I think the most compelling tidbit I got off her is that she has collabed with the ID Gen1 girls and has mentioned that Moona actually invited her to join Hololive ID - which she said she declined, citing her unfamiliarity with ID language/culture but that she'd welcome the opportunity should Hololive decide to expand the branch to HoloSEA.
Huh, didn't know she's also based in Canada. I'll try catching her streams on Youtube. Not sure if I wanna spend time learning about Twitch though, I always get lost on that site. It's also interesting that she got invited to audition for Hololive ID. It's always boggled my mind how ID seems to have a bigger presence on the anime/manga/VTuber market compared to the rest of SEA.

I keep reading this over and over (much like anything Haachama related in this thread) but is there an actual description of how poorly her hosts treated her, or is it just baseless conjecture to add to the 900 ton pile?

We don’t know which state in the West Coast Ame currently living in but Haachama could share house with Ame somewhere in California or with Gura in Texas for school purpose. Not to mention if the rrat about HoloEN expand as independent branch logically means they will have pick a place and open their represent office as well as recording studio for it. Calli might also move back to US if that’s happen since there’s no reason to stay in JP with work visa and juggling regular job and streaming.

- Gura's not in Texas. That's been disproven in her doxx incident in the now-scrubbed LOLCow thread.

- Calli's no longer doing her English-teaching job and hasn't done so for a few months now - which at the time was discussed that Cover probably managed to work out her visa being tied to it and taken it over. The entire reason she moved to Japan in the first place is to be closer to the Japanese underground hip-hop scene so it makes no sense that she'd move back to the US right when she's finally found herself a big platform that grants her access and enables her to collab even more within the scene.

- From a capital standpoint, that rrat about EN being a stand-alone branch is just plain ridiculous because of the needless expense it proposes. If there's anything COVID has disproven, it's the sheer necessity of physical offices when the work/communication can just as easily be done remotely.

save their family social credit
I have read somewhere (maybe even in this thread) that social credit is fairly easy to grind back to its normal level by doing some mundane jobs, like by disinfecting hotel corridors and so on. Not sure how true it is (and for which parts of Chinese society).

You know, I've played through all of the yakuza games and I've yet to get a good grasp on building hands on mahjong. Maybe this time will be different.
e: lol forget it
If you are a beginner, just try to collect two adjacent numbers (to increase your chance of getting the remaining third tile in the sequence), collect three dragons (this alone qualifies as yaku), cut the remaining tiles, pray for the best result.
Before Yakuza games I had no idea about mahjong and while I'm still a total noob, at least the game became (addictively) enjoyable.

They still censor the word chink

The Chinese are calling non-Chinese "barbarians" and "white skins" or something like that, if machine translation is to be believed (it isn't).

I'm sure there are plenty of nice and 10/10 would play mahjong with Chinese people, but the only ones I've interacted with so far either wanted to sell me some stocks, wanted to scam my company using a huge contract as a bait (upon checking with the embassy, their company had like 50$ of registered capital), joined internet raids on celebrities due to retarded political/cultural reasons or want to kill an entertainer due to retarded political/cultural reasons. Just why.

She has a decent grasp of the language on the reading and hearing front but isn't great at communicating out what she wants
You can train reading and listening on your own, but speaking requires interactions, you cannot will yourself to speaking fluency alone. Fun fact: I know people who worked in tourism (camping sites and so on) and picked up speaking in a foreign language to a fluent level, but when it comes to reading and writing, they are just not very good - it's because they have practised only one aspect of the language.

To add to this, her host family didn't treat her well too I believe. I don't blame her if she hated her AU experience because of it (even if she says the opposite on stream)
Those were high school days and high school kids are known to create clique and bullying etc. plus her hate for Australia due to the host family.
I have experience in ESL/EFL and I assure you, at least about 50% of host families should never be host families. It is god awful. Basically, they do it to get paid for room & board but take little interest in the guest student and sometimes even treat them like a nuisance. The vetting systems for host families are garbage and it is hard to get transferred. Add to that most Asians are "don't rock the boat" type of people and they're more likely to sit and suffer than complain to the school or organization and get a transfer to a new host family.

Culture wise my 2 cents is that multiculturalism will never work anywhere outside of US. Australia is a bad copy paste with how retard the government antics lately. In addition, I still remember “her rant” regarding her dad who many suspect being massive patriarchal like “ I pay for your school so you must listen to me”. Move back to Japan and had to deal with “that”, if it’s true then she will be up and “run away” soon nows that’s she had the finance for it.
Ummm... multiculturalism doesn't work in the US, either. As for her Dad, hopefully she has control over her own finances now that she's legally an adult. Another parent situation like Aloe would just suck.

The reason I think she might consider study abroad in US especially California (UCLA or San Francisco Arts school) or Texas A&M was due to large Asian Americans demographic over those locations which will make she feel like home plus having an arts media relate degrees will prove useful for her down the line especially if she eventually retire from streaming and move on to management role within COVER (possible).

I get what you are saying and I'm going to say... maaaaaaaybe. Trying to predict anything like this, though, is pointless because you're dealing with an individual. It's less difficult to predict groups' behaviors but the behaviors of individuals are always subject to too many unknown variables. Just read Asimov's Foundation stories. So, I'm going to go with a "you're engaging in wishful thinking" route. I mean, it'd be cool, yeah, if it happened. I'm hammering X to doubt, though.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and just ask that you start providing links/evidence for this. We're not claiming firmly that she's in Texas, just that we think she's there at this point in time, surmised from her bringing up the weather during her 3rd Red Dead Redemption stream (first brought up and discussed in this thread on page 566) Also if the doxx incident you're referring to is the exact one that gets discussed all the time, keep in mind the info found in that incident goes way back and is very likely outdated. People move all the time when they develop internet careers.

Speaking of moving, Amelia is getting ready to "relocate her office" as she puts it. Most likely to see if it helps her shitty internet situation but that won't stop people from rratting it up with other reasons.
Anyone else read the previous page to this thread and have to double-check what page number you were on?

I actually thought for a second I had gone back a few weeks inadvertantly.
In my case I literally did go back a few weeks just to look for a certain topic that was discussed already. This thread really does go in circles a lot.

Probably because you're on english-side of the internet and all the chinks see is yet another gullible whiteys easy to scam on. I mean this is the people that fall for Nigerian prince meme.

And the entertainer thing is common regardless of ethnicity tbh, from Russian bots, Turkish roaches, or Indian street-shitter, if you are from the west and diss a state, every single one of their citizen will activate their anti-imperialist stance. It's just what it is.

Referring more to the recent lolcow doxx that revealed her being in the northeast that eventually got scrubbed. It's been mentioned somewhere in this thread and I'm too lazy to go back a couple hundred pages to pull it up.

From her talking about time of day, she is definately in the Central time zone. But that does cover a rather wide area.

It would be interesting to start a new rrat that Gura is racist and that is why she doesn't do collaborations with JP to see how far it spreads. (I have no proof of that either way)

That's the problem here. I'll summarize what was discussed there below:

The dox relied on a bunch of twitter/facebook posts from something like ten years ago. Why did they do this? Because all her current accounts are virtually airtight, the only "real" thing she posts is the food she cooks. Her previous identity was also practically airtight - Senzawa, for all intents and purposes, is a 2D character and not a real person. There are no references to her real life apart from being drunk and eating certain strange items (which cannot be taken reliably). In fact her older accounts, which contained interactions with her family and friends, were also purged completely long before they could be archived. Unfortunately she was tagged by others in certain posts, which was eventually used to track her down.

tldr shark brain smart, hard to track

I saved this image a while ago from 4chan and I never knew I would find an appropriate context for it.

I recently downloaded Azur Lane, and I just realized because of the chink outrage last year, we're never getting an Hololive rerun, or have the other girls get ships. Fuck those chinese-cocksuckers, can't even enjoy my gatcha games in peace.
That Hololive event was actually the reason I stopped playing for months because I got Aqua instead of Fubuki and got salty as hell
So fuck that event, all my homies hate the Holo event

Bring it back though I want to use my 50 Ayames
