I read his biography 20+ years ago when it came out in 1998, none of these allegations are a surprise to anyone who's read his book. He has a long documented trackrecord of being a selfish inconsiderate violent drug addicted asshole who would attempt to blackmail anyone speaking out against him. I am not gonna sit there making up excuses for him, it was really only a matter of time. In his book he constantly talks about how he would try and escape the cops back then, so he obviously knew he was getting away with crimes and would get caught sooner than later. However, I am also not going to make up excuses for his #metoo accusers either, because all those women knew or should have known what they were getting themselves into. The book was right there for anyone willing to pick it up and read it, which seemingly none of these dumb bimbo actresses and starfuck starlets ever did. No one on the planet came with a bigger warning label than that guy.

In this book he also said Trent Reznor raped a woman, to which Trent Reznor said it was just a total fabrication. So the real story is: either Trent Reznor is a rapist, or the book is just full of bullshit. I can believe both of these things, as I believe every single popular musician in history was a rapist at least once.

People have been saying this like a broken record at this point but I'll say it again: What he does is not in any way a serious philosophy channel. What he actually does is make video essays about political topics he's invested in with an occasional "x philosopher said this" here and there. Even just looking at a set of his more recent videos, it becomes extremely obvious that "scientific dissemination" is not what this channel is for. It's for "intellectual" progressive political takes. While not even being that intellectual. Like, at all.

I would say that they represent what has since evolved out of the 2010s SJWs. I think the massive success of anti-SJWs between 2015-2017 really forced them to change a lot of their tactics and abandon certain talking points. When's the last time you heard a progressive unironically talk about "patriarchy", for example? They still hold pretty much all the same beliefs and if anything have only gotten more extreme with time.
