Kiryu Coco debuted at the end of 2019, before Hololive's huge break and by August, 1 month before the debut of HoloEN, she made 800k USD in SC
Considering the relatively low "operating costs" of vtubers and the fact that some even do it as a second job I would say that's pretty damn big.

For indies well one of the most superchatted is Kagura Mea, who got 120k USD this year, so being backed by a company obviously brings in quite a bit, but I doubt many indies are vtubing as their only source of income

Doesn't Hololive also pay their talent? Like actual salary? I don't know about Nijisanji or other companies but obviously this side gig pay really well when you got a corpo behind you.

For context, Capcom was the one that copystruck Mio and made her take a month long hiatus and instigated the Holocaust last year.

The phrase I've heard is the best way to mend fences is to do business and make money together. Just look at the US and Japan after WW2, went from mortal enemies to business partners. The US and the UK also works after that minor insurrection incident.

I fully believe it's a show of good faith and Capcom and Cover wanna bury that hatchet. Why else would they collab with Hololive, and why else would they pick Mio of all people? They (Capcom) obviously know what they did to her last year, and how her channel ban made her consider retirement. I doubt they wanted it to go that far, so this is a nice way to mend fences. That witch outfit is a banger, can we get that as an actual costume for Miosha?

Anyway, give permissions, Capcom. You shitdicks.

Yeah I've read somewhere that Hololive does pay some sort of salary so even the less successful ones earn something and don't starve. Also those SC numbers, I forget the exact percentages but Youtube takes a cut, then Hololive and the talent gets what is left.

I think its been brought up a few times that Cover does pay their Talents (both in Hololive and Holostars) a set salary. Which makes sense if you consider the fact Cover apparently takes a cut from their superchats on top of the cut youtube takes and that girls on the lower end of the viewership and/or subscription side are still able to make some money from doing this. I believe this is also the same with Nijisanji and I know Tamaki's group (NoriPro) is exclusively paid salary out of what is basically her own wallet too I believe. but other companies like (eg: ) 774 I have no idea.

It's lower than that, Coco mentions it in this clip but there is also the dreaded Income Tax. The actual take home pay suuucks especially when you see all those superchats $$, reality kicks in later lol

Edit: Takamori forced ship be damned, those two are such good friends. Kiara just finished the unarchived part by singing "Leaving on a Jet plane" and she could barely finish the song. At the end, you could hear her sobbing into Calli's shoulder and Calli comforting her. I hope those two are able to keep seeing each other in person in the future.
