Or they just wait until your policy term ends and they decline to let you renew it.Not to say that this happened to Ron, but I know of several people who had large claims on their home owner's insurance and just after the company paid out, their insurance was canceled. Apparently this happens quite often. When you have a large claim, you are seen as a liability. Perhaps, Ron's insurance did pay out and then canceled on him and now no other insurance company will sell him a policy (or sell it at a reasonable rate). Now he has to rent. Who knows. Texas may have laws against that, but my state does not.
