If Gears or Clef said “hey I want you to pull my stuff down as I wrote it but feel free to rewrite in your own words without crediting me” there would have been no questions asked. They already replaced the iconic pictures for the Old Man and 682, it was for licensing reasons but it’s still a pair of dead sacred cows. They only saw the workload of deleting hundreds of pages, they got on a high horse about integrity of the canon that doesn’t exist when they made sure I couldn’t adequately refute the point.

They saw a moral challenge, and blinked because this version of SCP Staff, ss, is self-conscious about its illegitimacy. Absolutely petrified of backlash. That’s why they passed the buck to a public vote on the SCP Forums, an arbitrary voter pool they have the most influence over and they can claim a pool of a few hundred randos most of whom have never read or used my work and say that they’re following the “will of the users” or “respecting the wishes of the wider community” as opposed to valuing the individuals in that community.

found this editorial I wrote for the so-called “Site News” the first version I wrote in 2018 and was rejected and told not to show it to anyone by ARD, Procy and Nico.

Later then I rewrote it after I came out and decided to not try and submit it again. So you can see they are not able to even acknowledge these basic truths. Even I let myself forget about it after I wrote it, because I didn’t know what to do with it:

It would've been so easy for SCP to save itself. Merely allowing the slightest discussion without instantly censoring minimally deviating opinions would've been enough for it not to collapse into an echo chamber. So much goddamn pain and constant dread would've been avoided. It's so fucked up that even leftoids and LGBT folk get perma'd for deviating in the slightest from the norm.

God there’s not a word on 05 and there’s only five admins that are relevant all of whom must feel isolated and paranoid. Not to mention they were all burned out to some degree before this. Only god only knows the reckoning that will be going on when they come to terms with the fact that almost every key ss member has been compromised by djkaktus. ProcyonLotor has staff integrity, if not moral or intellectual integrity, perhaps this is the moment the attack raccoon finally becomes an admin so that the rest don’t have to stomach a purge on the scale that will be necessary to remove the Yurt’s eyes and ears from ss safe spaces. At least, assuming credibility still matters to them.

I agree with everything you are saying; staff are absolute moral pussies, always have been, this makes them more so, and you called their bluff. There's a victory in that and you should feel good about it; you outsmarted them by using a move that only you could have used. They never saw it coming, and you can point at them decisively as the lesser, more basally motivated apes they are. That's not going to be anything special out here.

But do as you do with any article and consider your audience. Don't you think you're going about this in the way that will ultimately cause the least amount of influence in the people who have the most to potentially gain from it? The point is the call, not the chips, right? Otherwise you're still in carrying the cult of quantity you've suddenly woken up to and apparently hate. You've definitely given everyone who's ever respected you for your writing copious reason to not care at all that they go against your request, burying the moral challenge in more egregious and self-inflicted villainy. You rival Audrey Duskin now; do you think anyone at SCP gives a shit that his art is actually amazing and that they can own it? No.

You are burning bridges you used in order to get you where you are, thinking that their obsolescence is a threat... it's toothless calling someone else self-consciously illegitimate here. Your problem is that you still have no self-esteem as a woman but are too high off of the fumes of it right now to know it, and you think that the sudden switch is a magic bullet to get it, instead of the decade-long process of realizing what parts of you are worthwhile constants before, during, and beyond your contradictions (or genders). If you knew how to properly leverage your past self or selves to help your current one, you wouldn't destroy your old oeuvre as some sort of effigy simply because he was a man. You've got a lot of fans and a lot of influence to do something good for a lot of people; something not a lot of people have. Your end result won't hurt who you want it to. You could theoretically let SCP have what you gave them, and still share whatever it is you want to. This is probably the most important point. Harmony, any chance of staff being affected by any of this went down the drain within days of you joining this forum. The community is going to vote to keep the articles, staff is going to do the same, and your claim that Kaktus is secretly controlling the wiki from behind the scenes isn't going to be taken seriously. You burned every bridge you built in nearly a decade of being on the wiki to join a forum that tells you to kill yourself for being transgender, and you don't even have anything to show for it. At least you're not whoring for upvotes anymore, I guess.
