General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Trying to get noticed. Gotta do something extraordinary to get eyeballs on you when you're an indie.
Certainly better than the previous methods of trying to be a meme (cringe) and twitter grifting. Shows that they're willing to put in work to succeed, I'm pretty sure the algorithm also helps a bit because you accumulate viewers over the course of the stream.

Minor updates:

Artemis of the Troon has fallen to a pathetic rate of growth. Seems to have no new ideas.

The doxfag from earlier claims to have Suisei. You're welcome to judge whether it's legit.

Possible? But I have the feeling that they are going completely off of the voice. . . which is extremely inaccurate.
Edit: Even the YT comments are calling BS hard. One guy is saying that he already saw the 'Machi' twins. . . but I am pretty sure he is talking about this channel that some people think are the star-children: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5PJJOCyKs0A5fJilPRA6BA
The singing is similar and the older sister isn't as much in the picture anymore, but streams don't line up very well.
Specifically, the comments in this older video are where it get's brought up. I was bought at first blush myself:
Plus, it was recommended when the Watame, Fubuki, and Rushia true channels were recommended so. . . guilt by association at first.

That is the most confusing graph I've seen all week. Could you give some explanation? Right now it looks like the left axis shows both new subscribers and total subscribers, suggesting they get 200k new subscribers every so often, but they also... have 200k total?
Just curious about actual numbers here, to get a sense of how good/bad it is.

Legendary Jdrama that said to be based on a true story. An otaku helps out some rich girl on a train from some old drunk guy, falls in love with her and awkwardly starts to woo and date her while seeking advice from an image board (2chan?). The opening by Electric Light Orchestra is legendary and even inspired an anime that was sadly pretty shit. The guy himself is cringy as fuck but I did love the scenes where he asks advice from the image board and you see all the various types of otaku and people who post on image boards. Throughout the show you get to see their backstories a bit and see them grow. It's a pretty special series.

The Train Man story was based in actual 2ch threads and ran for nearly 60 days and 30,000 posts. If not true, it was still insane levels of ARG dedication which, granted, a Japanese nerd man could certainly be capable of.

Now I shall turn off my limiters...

That kickass opening is a shameless fellation of Daicon IV:
Daicon IV starts after III about two minutes in. It was made for an anime con by proto-Gainax members.

If you would like to check out more media that is like the Train Man story, here is the manga Molester Man and the exact opposite of these love stories, [Help!] The Girl I Like Won't Respond to My Emails (´・ω・`) (Part 1).

Umm...Watame is playing Papers, Please, look at her cute hat:

Took this from his SocialBlade profile. He only got like 14k subs in January, which is pretty bad.

No idea if it's Suisei or not, not completely sold on the voice, but either way I feel bad that her chat is now full of western spergs

I feel bad for any talent that has any kind of sperg in chat. . . but western ones just annoy me on another level in chats outside of EN, Coco, and Towa (for various reasons). At least I have the common decency to spam and simp in the comet's language unlike those troglodytes.

Speaking of Suisei. . . no one mentioned (Unless I hit a blind spot) the mint collab videos of her, Sora and Aqua. Hips:

Gotta give credit where it's due. If you are an artist, Ina is the best thing ever, motivation-wise and you can learn a thing or a hundred from watching her practice/work.

Saw it in my recommendations but I dunno the context behind that collab. One thing I take away from these vids is that I understand Okayu's fetish now. Those gloves do add a lot to Suisei's gestures.
_______
Mkay, the context is cough lozenges.

Unfortunately, if most of your art knowledge comes from things like old PS contest forums and old Mark Kistler videos from 30 years ago, then she’s really too far ahead to pick up much from.

also, it is a sad testament to how much the Undertale community sucks that the Holo girls are actually putting route letters in their Undertale videos Thimbnails.

I legit think Hari Ryu may be one of the top gamers in the Vtube sphere. And she does it all with mouse & keyboard. And she’s adorable.

For some reason I decided to use jewtube using my phone for once and got an ad for some piano vtuber out of all things. Her stuff seems comfy, and I like the model design.
I like this idea for a vtuber and hope she can capitalize on it. I used her always-live piano video as music for weekend house honeydos and it works well in place of other 24/7 channels and would rather help out her channel metrics. I like her model's smile, it's one of those little things on a character that helps others stand out like Korone and Watame and even Miko's triangle mouth.
