Having a wager the streamer can effect the outcome so easily doesn't seem very ethical, it's perfect for the stream.
It quickly went from "Will DSP's team win?" to "Try to get 8 knife kills lol." I'm surprised this isn't too clowny for him, but he does enjoy the goal (in otherwise purposeless COD multiplayer) and laughing at how many of his viewers lost their worthless channel points.

Any artistic people who want to make this into some kind of Dragonball/Naruto shit...please do. Would be fucking hilarious.

I only just heard the code word system. How little effort does he put in to everything! Someone tips him, gives him a code word and DSP uses that from now on. So... tip impersonating a whale account and give a code word. Then when the legitimate person tries to donate, their code word is wrong and ignored. He's an idiot.

Would it have literally destroyed an entire day of streaming by messaging the very few people who tip with a generated code word... yes, in his reality I guess it would.
As I see it Phil publicy announcing the unverified tips code-word system now makes it easier for whomever to get "fake tips" past Phil's tipquisitions. All anyone has to do is pick a regular paypig and preemptively establish a code-word while impersonating them.

I don't get what the code words, and/or only verifying certain people's contributions does except overcomplicate everything for no obvious reason.

If you absolutely must take tips, and you've lost what sounds like thousands of dollars of apparently critical income on fake tippers, require verified PayPal for everyone. Brain-dead easy.

If some of your bankruptcy-enablers don't want to get a verified PayPal, accept cheers from them instead.

If you *only* accepted cheers, none of this would be a fucking problem whatsoever because the cheering accounts are obviously and clearly identified.

If the chargebacks/fake tips/whatever-the-hell-he's-calling-it-this-week is that serious a financial problem that it threatens his income daily, why would you not do the most easy, straightforward, and secure things first? Why would you add all this unnecessary bullshit to the situation?

Phil goes on to admonish someone for saying it was OiC that was tipping the majority - the cheerer congratulated OiC on owning the trolls. He says that he knows people like to attribute support to OiC, but 'tonight the vast majority of contributions were not from him.'

Phil really found a whale here who is his intellectual equal.
And of course Phil, while verbally confirming that OiC contributes most of the money most streams, calls the person who made a joke about it "immature and stupid". For being right, apparently.

If he would only accept from verify paypals, he would not be able to cry chargebacks in a few months.

But this is going to be a gimmick for the whole year, and more.
He can't anyway as he's set up his 'system' to only accept verified paypal. If he deviates from that, he can't complain. No one is making him deal with any of this but himself.

One dollar in tips in the last 2+ hours... This is what happens when $81 of your $101 comes from two people. I didnt even bother to check the other khantributions because its Sunday, and fuck him, there's more important things to do. As long as his brain allows him to see that $100 hit, and he puts on a vest (gay), I guess he doesn't care about anything else that happens. I did see that the $61 is from an unverified account, and Dave is "taking a chance" on it. What chance are you taking? The person is giving you money, either accept it, or refund it.

If you had stuck to your word (like many have pointed out here that you still accept shady tips), this wouldn't even be an issue. But no, you have to be the greedy sack of pig shit that you are.. And Hogan pulls arent cheap. We know this already

*Phil walks over the edge playing as Luigi*
"What the fuck happened?! YOOOO, I have no idea what happened! I was on the block and next thing I know I was phasing through the block dead. I never fell through and never walked off the edge. I didn't do that."

Phil really needs glasses or a better way of not lying lazily.

As someone who knows jack shit about Divinity, I just hope Phil doesn't pull an RE 2 on this game.

It seriously irked me how he legitimately put his controller down and said he isn't playing anymore until someone tells him how to beat the boss.

I know Phil's gonna get held hand through this game, but I seriously hope the game fucks his shit up no matter the hand holding.

Looking at it from Phil's perspective, the code words are the only functional way for Phil to accept unverified tips from whales on the fly. The only alternatives are to prearrange with the whales, or to have them confirm the tip on their Twitch account in the chat. The former takes effort and Phil gets mocked for it, and the latter has both Phil getting mocked and the paypig - several appear to enjoy tipping under aliases. Something tells me OiC is among the ranks of whales that refuses to verify their PayPal to help Phil out, and Phil knows that, aside from maybe the peak of the chargebacks where he didn't know it was coming, their contributions outweigh anything SH can cost him. I think we were right and that Phil may have been disabling unverified tips in December, and then turning them back on when he was expecting whales like Jax.

On the rest, you're absolutely right. Phil has had trouble justifying why he can't switch to accepting cheers and subs from the whales. For one, he deliberately conflates this to mean shutting down tips entirely. And from there, he insists that he absolutely requires tips for immediate expenses, and there is no way at all for him to basically flop so that he is at least one Twitch paycheck ahead at all times in order to not rely on said tips. The issues with this are clear - an adult should be able to budget, he makes $10k monthly so this should not remotely be a problem, and he received an entire extra Twitch paycheck from OverpoweredBoone and OiC alone in November and December and he didn't do it despite being, allegedly, nailed with chargebacks.

This basically leaves the core conclusion that Phil can't budget and mismanages money. Further, it suggests he is absolutely reliant on immediate cash for some reason, and is willing to prioritize that over safer, equally viable options that just delays when he can get the money. We know why this is the case - Phil is an addict and likely scales his gacha spending to match his monthly tips. He uses his Twitch paycheck to cover all expenses, and then blows his financial brains out on gacha and take-out.

To me, this is sort of the last line in terms of any belief that Phil is capable of that redemption arc he dreams of. He has had the time, money and support to swing his business structure around, as you described, to something that is more stable, secure, and responsible. And not only is he not doing this, he is going out of his way to find ways to continue operating in the most volatile way possible, and pushing as much responsibility onto his supporters as he can. While doing this, he has also doubled down on his whale-reliance because he created a prohibitive barrier for casuals to tip, and allowed only whales an option to bypass that. It's incompetent. But Phil needs the cash hit so he can keep the dopamine flowing. SH has not financially broken him, but he has really shown how pathetic and irresponsible Phil really is.

On today's early stream he mentioned that "3 viewers already adopted the code words", showing that all those tips that he doesn't even check are just from 3 people. This is insane, how can you rely so much on such small group of people. I mean, sure, one of them gave so much money that became basically a sponsorship at this point, but what if they all decide leave?

I don't even know how many paypigs he still has, but it's seems that the number decreased hard... And not to mention he is so confident on those few whales that he is banning other stream regulars whithout caring.

Eventually the code words will make the rounds and another chargeback saga will ensue.

By whatever dark magic fuels the pigroach luck, there always seems to be a new paypig that swoops in to replace any scorned paypigs that leave.
We are all hoping for the day that all his paypigges leave the pen and the hilarity that follows that- but the autism vortex always keeps bringing in more and more wheelchairs with deep wallets.
