Because Rhys is a zealot as well as an idiot it's always hard to tell whether he's arguing in bad faith or just being plain stupid.
Let's accept his position is that it is fair for him to compete against women because some women share Rhys's physical characteristics.
If fairness is predicated on similarity of physical characteristics, then greater similarity of physical characteristics contributes to greater fairness.
But the physical characteristics of men and women differ significantly on the average as a group.
Therefore a mixed group of men and women will have greater variability of physical characteristics than a group of only men or women.
The greater variability in physical characteristics makes competitions between men and women less fair than competition between only men or women.
By extension that makes the competition between Rhys and women less fair.
But that leads us into contradiction, since Rhys's position is that competing against women is fair.
One way to avoid the contradiction is to say that there is fundamentally no difference in physical characteristics between men and women at all. And sure enough that's what Rhys has increasingly been saying. But that line of reasoning works both ways. Because if there really is no difference, then why do trans people undergo years of mental and physical therapy to transition? Why all the dysphoria? Why transition at all when it's all the same anyway? More to the point, why compete against women? If there's really no difference, then why not compete against men?
The thing is that outside of the masters the doc would get his ass handed to him by a huge number of elite and pro women that are 5'5" aged between 18-40. That would happen because he is lazy and not that good at riding a bike and I am talking about the real elite and pro track/road riders. Not the masters.
The doc uses the fact he would get beaten alot in his argument for inclusion, along with the height/weight comparison, to try and get everyone to accept he is a true cycling woman with no great advantage. Anyone who dares to question that is shouted down and has the transphobia card played so they shut up, or have to leave town. If he wasnt lazy and more skilled it could be very different and he could have be representing Canada at the Olympics, a few years ago.
The doc started cycling and found out quick that it is harder than he thought. The wins came but not as many as he wanted so, in the calculating way of the attention whore narc, he found a niche where he could be the master. Literally.
This niche of cycling is where his argument completely falls apart though because he does have an advantage. There are fewer competitors in masters(because of age classes) so that increases odds for the pot hunter and ,because there are so few in each class, he is statistically likely to be bigger and stronger than the others so there is another advantage for the pot hunter. Rhys will fight tooth and nail to keep things as they are. As i said before; he needs this separation of men and women and he really needs the masters to exist. Otherwise he will be a nothing, or in cycling terminology, 'the fat man at the back'.
I think You can stil buy cycling jerseys with this printed on the back and can be seen on dad bods doing sportive/charity events. Maybe it is a choice present for someone you know. In minecraft.
What i find amusing is that along with the masculine walk, the manspreading, the talk of prey, the clear need to dominate women and so forth this man lives at Stallion Court and competes in a sport called, Masters.
What people choose is very telling of what is going on their head.
