Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

And in his usual style, Liam claims the truth will come out "eventually" about fuckyourbrainsout-gate. He has the DMs that'll make everyone feel foolish and redirect the hate mob towards Nerd Wonder, but he claims that it's entertaining to see people get mad about this and he wants to get as many people into the hate mob as possible. An interesting strategy that could only be devised by a social chess master. Normally, you'd want to nip this kind of thing in the bud instead of losing as many potential future backers (and artists) as possible, given that many of those people won't be following you or won't give a shit when you reveal the smoking gun. But who am I to question the absolute alpha vagene slayer himself?

That is the exact opposite of what one should do when falsely accused of a sex crime. And yes, what's being claimed is a crime, at least in Australia.

My guess is he's hoping it just goes away and everyone forgets about it.

Some good stuff in this stream. Apparently Liam blames Jon Malin for sowing the first seeds of doubt in Ody's mind after telling him they should just produce smaller books more frequently for higher profits. Ody expressed this to his father, who is reported to have been pretty unhappy with Liam, even though it was supposedly Ody who was insistent upon doing a 200 page book instead of 60, going so far as to do those remaining 140 pages for free, according to Ody's testament on Twitter. And if I'm hearing this right, Liam is also assigning quite a bit of blame to Ody's father for demanding that the book be at a certain price point, despite Liam claiming earlier in the stream that the father knew nothing about this business/industry? Seems unlikely...

Liam goes on to speculate that perhaps Ody grew upset and wanted to distance himself from Liam because Ody wouldn't be able to hit his targets of drawing three pages per day while fulfilling his military obligations. He didn't want to let Liam down, so he lashed out... or something... Also, what's all this nonsense about "training" artists that Liam always goes on about? Apparently Liam is secretly a Kubert with how much knowledge he has to pass down to artists to make them improve not only their art, but their drawing speed, effectively tripling their output after some time in his intensive boot camp.

Last little bit of humor: Liam claims we've "never seen him get angry" and most of what we see is "showmanship." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know he's claimed before that "Liam Gray" is a character, but holy shit this is insane. I've never met someone this delusional.
I only watched the stream for a bit, but wasn't he supposed to show his DMs with Nerd Wonder, to prove everyone wrong?
Also he hasn't shown any receipt, showing that he paid her, like he claimed.
(Nerd Wonder provided evidence that she wasn't paid, btw)
I only saw someone asking for it in chat and getting his message nuked.
I thought he wanted to show it like two days after this shit show started.

My guess is he's hoping it just goes away and everyone forgets about it.
Probably. But he gave us three extremely memorable DMs with the ERP, "good at sex and have money," and "fuck your brains out." I don't think this one's leaving the CG zeitgeist anytime soon.

wasn't he supposed to show his DMs with Nerd Wonder, to prove everyone wrong?
That's what he said on Twitter, but now he appears to be holding onto them indefinitely. He seems to think he has the high ground.

And COVID. Ody's stressed over that too. So to sum it up, he blamed Ody's dad, Jon Malin, Ody's military service and the coof.

Don't forget how @FROG is behind Nerd Wonder sharing her story. He doesn't come right out with it, but it's someone who was with DC/Marvel but isn't anymore. Who else could he be blaming but Ethan? Liam isn' going to show proof of this, of course, but it will come out, he says. I'm gonna wait for some lame War Campaign gay-op.

Too bad Reinoe left WC, he could whip up a lame photoshop.

I have no decent answer for why I bought these. Don't judge me!
At least you actually bought them. Mine just showed up.

I have a friend who does investment banking, and he invests personally on the side. Just to give you some backstory on this guy, he was a committed communist before he got an economics degree and understood it. He's definitely more left-of-center still but he isn't a lost cause. Anyways, I put the following to him:

Would you rather invest in someone who put out a few products that made quite a bit of money each time but was consistently late and rehashed his established IPs and gets away with it because he has name recognition, or would you invest in someone who didn't have name recognition but had thirteen products all fulfilled on time and has seen consistent growth with his KS campaigns and more people are giving him money to continue?

His answer was simple: if it's for short-term gains and you're not really caring about what's going on, he'd invest in EVS. If he was aiming for more long-term gains, he'd invest in Tim because constant growth means a better rate of return or something. By the way, he knows who EVS is as he's an avid Marvel and DC comics fan and he's actually pretty upset that EVS is the one who was late. He's planning on putting some money into the next KA if it looks as good as the previous ones do, and he's going to be on time.
This is the exact same gay diatribe that was happening last year, except it was Doug TenNapel instead of Tim Lim.

Tomorrow it'll be Wenger.

You aren't making an argument, you just sound mad. "B-but, Tim is on time with his shit" is the equivalent of Nasser being resentful that George R R Martin's eventual new Game of Thrones novel outsold 100 Days Till Halloween, when it was so late, and Nasser is on time. It could very well be that people just prefer my work and will wait for it.

I'm not in Tim Lim's way. His success or failure will be based on factors entirely independent of CYBERFROG. They can coexist.

And COVID. Ody's stressed over that too. So to sum it up, he blamed Ody's dad, Jon Malin, Ody's military service and the coof.

I found out about Nerd Wonder here on KF.

So many people try and make it seem like it has to be one or the other.

Nobody has to fail for you to succeed.

If it takes someone 1 year to put out one book vs 4 books in 1 year, who cares? It's not anybody's business how long it takes--all that matters are the customers are happy.

If your defense is "I'm late, but people like my work" then that should tell anyone who would invest in your stuff that you don't care about deadlines, and that they're more guidelines. If some no-name creator like Tim Lim can be on time thirteen times out of thirteen but you can't be on time once, that's points for Tim for having the work ethic and not making excuses as to why he can't meet self-imposed deadlines.

More to the point, no one said you have to fail for Tim to succeed. If it bothers you so much that you--in the eyes of a relatively new investment broker--are more successful for short-term gains while Tim is better for long-term gains, ask yourself why you might be upset that someone might think such things.

Sometimes books take longer to make than others. So? Why is this anyone's problem? The backers are happy.

What do Tim's books have to do with Ethan's? And Ethan HAS been on time. He was late on the first book, so what?

I like Tim's books--I LOVE Kamen America, but what's it matter if he's always on time and Ethan isn't? What do the two have to do with each other?

Everyone is trying to make some strange comparison but I don't see it. They're vastly different books, and the people who buy both are happy. I've backed all of Tim's books and I think I've backed all but 2 of Ethan's (still need to back Cyberfrog 2 and Creed). I'm happy with both.

These aren't stocks bruh, these are just comics. They'll have collectible value but these aren't "investments" lol I don't know why you'd ask an investment broker about any of this.

Honestly, Comicsgate is in a pretty miserable state if your stuff is like >90% of revenue.

I could honestly see a future where Lim's stuff would surpass the combined total of everything in CG, sans your own work. It's that good, and that successful. So much stuff in CG has been dogshit.
I misread "Lim" as "Liam" and spent a good five minutes thinking you had gone insane.

CG clearly had a strongly retarded element to it Frog, let's hope that this Liamite exodus acts as a kind of brain surgery on the collective CG unconscious, raising the painfully low IQ of the CG hive mind by siphoning the worst retards off to live in Liam's mud kingdom.
Anyone who leaves Frogs company to join Liam simultaneously raises the average IQ of both groups.

I'm just glad that you're not upset enough to have concocted this story. I believe you that you're not at all mad that CYBERFROG is still doing so well.

Holy shit. What if you actually DID ask someone IRL about this? LMAO

Here you go Nasser, this just popped up in my YT feed for no apparent reason. You could get about 10 hours of EFAP streams from this. Part 1 is 94 mins, Part 2 is also 90+ mins.

A diatribe? Seemed like a calm and measured comparison to me. You are absolutely allergic to any and all criticism. You're throwing words around just to throw 'em.

You tend to be late, we all know it, but the trade off has usually been in the art quality and detail. With CG and the rehashed Cyberfrog, you have two additional drawbacks to your work: time spent on your YouTube channel which could be spent on the book, and the strength of the concept. Now I acknowledge that strength of concept is purely within the realm of personal opinion. I asked this question once and never got a response from the Kiwis here, but it's not a trick question I really would like to know:

To those who like Cyberfrog, could you elaborate on what you like best about the character and what makes you want to see more of him? The more specific you can get the better, pick a scene from the originals, BloodHoney or the Rekt Planet ashcan. Only one thing doesn't count: how well he's drawn. You can start us off, @NasserRabadi13 .

Cyberfrog feels like a real character, and I can see Ethan's passion for this project in the writing and art. It's his best art he's done in his career--and he's done some of the best books DC has ever put out, and he managed to outdo himself.

He's a cybernetic frog that fights aliens? A pond critter granted humanoid shape, fighting stinging pests. Mark Waid could make a similar comic about redhead Wally West fighting rogue parademons and I'd like it.

Aside from the art, I'm trying to distill the essence of the character's appeal. Any particular abilities that you really like or is it all about his personality?

Okay, but can you be more specific about what particular aspect of being a pond critter actually factors into his allure? Kermit the Frog is a pond critter too, but his function as a character was the straight man in a comedic routine, the funny vocalizations, the absurdity of his love life. He had weaknesses and vulnerabilities to play off of.

On that note we could talk about Cyberfrog's weaknesses. Is there anything his enemies exploit? Have you seen significant character development over time with him?

No, I'm receptive to actual criticism, not endless gay mewling from anonymous retards about how Tim Lim or Doug TenNapel deserves it more for reasons.

Calling CYBERFROG a "rehashed" character isn't criticism. PLASTIC MAN is a "rehashed" character, then. So is the SHAZAM Captain Marvel. Fuck it, so is WONDER WOMAN. So is AQUAMAN. So are Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Characters that ceased publication, and then were picked up again for a new revamped series are traditional in comics. There was no aspect of ComicsGate that suggested that I needed to create something new, and CYBERFROG was never popular. There was no advantage to choosing to pick up his adventures again, it was simply the project I wanted to do the most.

And I'm glad I did! $3.7 Million later, it seems obvious in hindsight! Thanks to everyone who supported ALL CAPS COMICS!
