An amusing (or sad, depending on one's outlook) quote from this livestream was thus:
"I will always wonder...if I ever lose weight, and I become a normal weight...I'll always wonder if people...if they're treating me good just 'cause I'm thin, you know? "
There's more to unpack there than meets the eye. Yes, she will always wonder because she will never lose weight, let alone reach a normal weight. Worse, even if she miraculously did drop 300 pounds tomorrow and even shed the loose skin at the same time, there is no way she would ever manifest as "normal". It is her childlike brain at work again. Newsflash for Clotso: thin people are despised, plotted against, undermined, cheated, humiliated, and even murdered on a daily basis. People don't hate the boss because she's thin, they hate her (or love her) because she's the boss. Used car dealers don't overcharge people because they are fat or thin, they overcharge them because they are suckers. People don't steal your parking space because you are fat or thin, they steal it because they wanna park and don't wanna waste time looking for another space.
Yes, there is something to the notion that people will respond to good-looking friendly people in a more friendly manner than ugly, introverted ones. And one could conceivably attach that to the idea that people are more attracted to healthy, fit, friendly, intelligent, and young people. But it's a whole package that attracts someone.
What most people are not attracted to are chronic liars, people with poor hygiene, people who stink, people who are full of themselves, people who are ignorant, people who have weird mood swings, people who engage in destructive or self-harming behavior, people who have no manners, people who revel in their bodily functions, people who are corrupt, people whose word means nothing, people who screech a lot, people who act inappropriately, people who are self-centered, people who can't get out of debt, and people who are lazy and ambitionless.
This is what Clotso fails to grasp. In some ways, her weight is the least of her problems. At least there is a simple solution to it: eat less, move more. All the rest would take several lifetimes to address if a person really wanted to work hard and address them. Clotso refuses to even acknowledge most of them, except in extremely rare moments of scripted self flagellation prior to new health-kick charades.
More than anything else, this is why she is doomed. She is so messed up on so many levels that addressing the simple one, losing weight, becomes as insurmountable as building a ladder to the moon. She can wonder all she wants, she will never know. I can wonder what it is like to be a billionaire, but I'll never know. Some things are just aren't gonna happen in this life, and being normal is hers.
All I can do is kind of chuckle under my breath at the gallows humor of it all. She needs to wonder how to get her freakin' blood sugar down, not what the life experience of thin people are like. Because bitch is gonna die...
