Artcow Tim Buckley

Hate to break it to ya, Buckley, but that fan art looks exactly the same as the more well-known Ethan design.

The one reason the Loss storyline failed is because it was exactly like another regular episode of CAD. Sure, the comic has had some funny moments before, but more the most part it's just ran-dumb crapola B^U expects us to laugh at.
The Loss storyline was treated no differently than any other CAD storyline, when it should have been since it deals with serious subject matter. Hell, the characters' expressions barely even change from their normal ones.

Thought about addressing this earlier, it was bugging me. The problem is bigger than just Tim Buckley fumbling on a miscarriage storyline, the problem was that he saw fit to introduce one into his gag-a-day strip in the first place. It's so tonally inappropriate and out of place it's jarring to the reader and you're left sitting there like "wait, what the fuck?" I think the Bad Webcomics Wiki put it best:

Bad Webcomics Wiki said:
What Buckley has basically done is try to inject a graphic novel storyline into a gag strip. This is no different from if Jim Davis were to draw a Garfield strip where Garfield tells Jon that he has caught cat AIDS, then they spend the last two panels crying.

Buckley thought he could pull it off for no other reason than pure hubris. He overestimated how invested people were in his characters, he overestimated his own writing skills, and Loss will forever stand as a testament to the folly the video game webcomic author who takes himself too seriously. Blinded by his own ambition, Buckley failed to acknowledge his own limitations, and was stupid enough to think nobody would fucking notice.

This, of course, makes Loss the single greatest CAD strip ever.

I haven't seen it posted anywhere, so I would like to point out that CAD actually had it's own cartoon. The only video of it I could find was a Mrenter review of it, though. I know some people think he's a lolcow, but I'm going to post it anyway since it's the best example of the cartoon I could find.

You know you fucked up bad when Mr. Enter reviews your shitty cartoon show as a Animated Atrocity.

This is one of Enter's calmer videos, so it's actually a decent review.

Oh shit. THIS little announcement. I remember this.

I'm not going to go into the layers of smug that Buckley gives off here, but I will point out the irony of calling someone else's work amateurish and saying he would do CAD animated right given the final products of both.

Protecting your IP is one thing, but being an egotistical dick is another.

More irony
