Firstly read through the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. Here's one for the 11th circuit(that includes Georgia). You can find it
here. Then file a Notice of Appeal with the district court in which you lost the case (in your case it's the southern district). Upon receiving a confirmation from the appeals court of an accepted appeal, the appeal court will direct you to file a brief.
That's as basic as I can make the introduction. To find what must be put in the Notice of Appeal, look at FRAP Rule 3 (c). Be sure to check out Rule 3 (d) and (e) as well! They are very important to a successful start!
There is a small problem, though. You failed to object to R&R which, in 11th circuit means "[you] waive the right to challenge on appeal the district court’s order based on unobjected-to factual and legal conclusions if the party was informed of the time period for objecting and the consequences on appeal for failing to object." - 11th Cir. R. 3-1
Hope this helps, and I wish you luck!
To anyone curious, yes she was informed.
Your appeal will be dismissed is what I wrote there.
