Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Kinda fitting this would pop up now when so many online are going from "Disney Bad! Gina Good!" to "OMG new game and LEGOS! Oh My Disney!"
Star wars Lego is fucked... their models suck and Lego is at war with its costumer base in europe. Why buy soywars if you can buy a superior A-10 from Cobi?

The Ahsoka novel? Blissfully retconned by Filoni himself, with just about every detail about the Siege of Mandalore--which was already sketchy in the first place--now retconned to support a season finale that somehow manages to make even less sense.
Clone Wars season 7 also retcons Rex's reintroduction in Season 2 of Rebels.

Seems like Dave can't even keep consistency with his own shows.

I don't even get why they're trying to do a "Kylo dindu nuffin" thing, considering we saw him order the massacre of an entire village full of innocents on-screen.
The hacks retconned that as him being puppeteered by Palpatine since leaving Luke's academy in some cringy fight scene.

And Rey felt it for some reason despite that Disney shit claims they could only sense each other because of the shitty little Force bond they had in TFA. A literal dindu.

And the guy he's fighting is just bizarro Anakin but as a "gentleman".

Feels like every new villain under Disney is just a knockoff of Vader, Tarkin and Palpatine.

What's even worse is that the ancillary Nu-Canon materials' attempts to flesh out the films is almost always immediately trampled underfoot by on-screen retcons.

The shitty Poe Dameron comic? Retconned into oblivion thanks to TLJ showing him as a reckless hothead disobeying Leia when they absolutely do not have that relationship in the comics (as well as TROS changing his origin to spice runner and making oblivious to jet troopers he already fought in the comics).

Claudia Grey's eye-rollingly stupid background info on Leia for her Bloodlines novel? All changed, thanks to TROS' revelation about her abandoning Jedi Training out of fear for her son (even TLJ got partially retconned because Rian Johnson claimed that Leia never had any Jedi Training and that her Super Leia feat was just an instinctual maneuver).

The Ahsoka novel? Blissfully retconned by Filoni himself, with just about every detail about the Siege of Mandalore--which was already sketchy in the first place--now retconned to support a season finale that somehow manages to make even less sense.

And the novelizations? Fucking forget about 'em. Both Alan Dean Foster's TFA and Jason Fry's TLJ have background info on Snoke being an ancient archivist who collects Force artifacts...only for TROS to waltz along and retcon him as a fucking clone. And then you have my favorite one of all, which is the fucking atrocious Kylo Ren comics, which not only rewrote Kylo to have not actually killed Luke's students even though that's what TLJ deliberately tells us, but also gives Snoke autonomy as an individual person who emotionally manipulates Kylo into turning against the other Jedi. And this isn't even getting into all the ways that the films contradict each other.

Even if you read, watch, and consoom everything in canon, you have to make a wealth of personal concessions to reconcile all the ways that it doesn't mesh well together, and even with that, it's all to link together a collection of stories that range from mediocre to outright terrible.

Which is funny, because I'm actually one of those mouth-breathing lore fiends who actually does like to read everything...I read Crimson Empire, Chewbacca, Invasion and Rogue Planet to get the full context of what was happening in NJO. I read all the old 80's Marvel issues to get the rundown on Lumiya before reading LOTF. And I know that when I'm done with FOTJ, I'll probably go back and read all of the novellas, short stories and comics pertaining to the Lost Tribe of the Sith, just because I find them so interesting. Even if the quality of the individual stories aren't that great, I can still appreciate the ways that the continuity flows together and makes sense, and it's rewarding as a reader to see how everything comes together. Sure, there's a retcon or two along the way, but when the good stories outnumber the bad, it's a small price to pay when keeping up with everything. But that incentive doesn't exist with Nu-Canon, because on top of all of the stories being complete fucking trash, they aren't even consistent in terms of continuity to warrant reading everything.

Also, this "Read Everything If You Want The Full Scoop" Method that Disney/LFL are currently employing with High Republic is already killing them. On top of places like r/StarWars barely acknowledging that project's existence, the only posts you'll find on it are baffled outsiders asking what order they have to read this shit in.

The only traction High Republic is getting on the official Star Wars Reddit is apathy at best, and confusion at worst.
It legitimately takes effort to fuck up basic plot consistency that hard. It takes multiple points to fuck up at once to generate such a shit set up. You have to not even have a vague outline for one thing, which the execs refused to do and in fact burned the one they had. Seriously, they had a basic outline by Lucas they could edit to their hearts' content AND had the EU. Nope fuck that. Just take the worst shit if we use any of it.

You also have to not fucking talk with each other even in the time period where you have to kind of try to ghost people. Seriously, it takes a lot of ignoring PMs or refusing to talk to fuck up communications between branches that hard.

Then on top of it all, you have to intentionally pick a method that by its nature results in collapse, which they did with this "BrAnD sYnErGy" horseshit. Brand Synergy would've been something like making Rogue One, then making a game tie in that has you play rebels as smugglers or something. Brand Synergy would've been something like doing a comic series on Finn's time in the Trooper corps after showing his initial arc. Brand Synergy was like that big push in the 90s LucasFilms did. This isn't synergy; it's fleecing with shit product.

Like how eventually some cells fuck up hard enough to become cancer, Disney fucked up hard enough to not even be able to do something like a novelization right. It takes actual skill or genetic damage to be this incompetent tbh.

Huh... wonder if I should write out another one of those napkin scripts like I did with the sequels; I could maybe do something with Ragu One and I sure as shit can with my own ideas. Hell, maybe actually plot out Weekend at Jabba's instead so I can laugh as something like that is stolen like the time Disney actually used that G'gorfo shitpost I did.

The latest High Republic animatic, the first posted since Gina Carano was fired has a ton of dislikes and the top comments are quoting her words in the interview she did with Ben Shapiro.

Its the same thing with all their recent videos lol. Their previous High Republic animatic had the ratings and comments divided evenly but now its just full negative. The Marchion Ro (who's just a Kylo Ren knockoff (who is himself a knockoff)) one has the most hate so far.

Any bets on how long it takes for Disney/Lucasfilm to disable ratings and comments?

Meanwhile I'm debating. PS4 Lego Skywalker Saga? Or Switch? The latter would be good for multi-player but the graphics might take a hit. Its still the same game tho iirc

Neither. Because Sequel Trilogy bullshit. Do not give them one cent of your hard-earned money that could reward or validate anything they've done since purchasing the franchise. Go back and replay COMPLETE SAGA; it includes all the real Star Wars movies that actually exist.

And now you know why Disney looks at you guys with contempt and thinks that they can shit all over you so long as they release any product. This would be smart but this is just a cash operation to further rape the franchise. Probably will change shit out of spite too.

CONSOOM PRODUCT AND KEEP ON CHANNELING THE DRUG ADDICT YOU ARE

BUY THE DEATH STICKS AND DON'T THINK YOU FUCKING PIGS

With regard to the Republic Commando port, I don't see this the same way at all (although bonus points for the THEY LIVE reference). I see this as living proof that older, pre-Mouse Star Wars is what sells, and what people care about. Case in point, look at Hasbro. They don't want to produce further ST figures, because they don't sell. Disney may, contractually, make them do it of course, but they've famously stated that they are a waste of time and bad for business. Secondary market EU material has increased in price, also.

You're dead right about anything Disney makes though. Unfortunately all you have to do is insert Luke into the end of Mando (which I still can't care about and gave up a couple episodes into the season), and people start uncontrollably urinating for some reason.

Oh idgaf about the last two films lol. I'll probably cheese them

Well, the other side of this is that Disney/LFL want to milk the brand anyway they can, and with the laughable speed it takes for them to produce video games of their own, it's easier to just fill the void with pre-existing games.

Just goes to show how far we've come in terms of Star Wars games. In 2005 alone, we had the ROTS game, LEGO Star Wars for the kiddies, Republic Commando, Battlefront II, and the PC port of KOTOR II.

Nowadays, it takes EA and Lucasfilm three to four years just to churn out something as mediocre as Squadrons or Fallen Order.

Case in point, look at Hasbro. They don't want to produce further ST figures, because they don't sell. Disney may, contractually, make them do it of course, but they've famously stated that they are a waste of time and bad for business.
I believe Diamond Select were the ones who made the statement about the ST Figures selling like AIDS needles, not Hasbro. But Hasbro themselves has demonstrated many times that they're aware of where the hype and interest is for their collector's market.

It's no coinicidence that Boba Fett has been repackaged and resold in various Archives Sets for their Black Series Line, while most of the ST Characters haven't had a revision or repackaging since 2018. Most of the new figure announcements are almost always PT or OT releases or re-releases, or limited runs of Blandalorian or TCW fodder like Ahsoka and Cad Bane. And on top of that, they've started farming old Star Wars games for their GameStop Exclusive figures.

Back in 2018, the GameStop Exclusive was Snoke on his Fisher Price Throne. These days? It's Darth Nihlus, or the various specialist Stormtroopers from The Force Unleashed.

Secondary market EU material has increased in price, also.
Some of it has, some of it hasn't. I only bring this up because I shop around for EU materials on the regular to expand my dong collection, and the old paperback and hardcover books have remained at the same relatively cheap price for years (I say relatively because certain hardcovers like Darth Plagueis and the Bane Trilogy are sought after and pricey). Really, the EU material that has quadrupled in price are the Dark Horse comics. Now, that could be because Marvel is doing such a shit job keeping their "Legends Epic Collections" in stock for normies, but it's not just the Dark Horse omnibus volumes that have climbed up in price; Shadows of the Empire, Dawn of the Jedi, and Tales of the Jedi command some steep prices online, either for nostalgia or Disney/LFL by and large not economizing on those eras in canon.

I also personally remember seeing the Dark Empire TPB's going for stupid amounts of money back in December of 2019....completely coincidental, I'm sure.

Remember when they were going to be putting out a Star Wars film every year either a main-release or one of the side stories? Pepperidge farm remembers.

My guess is that Disney is going to use this as an excuse to cancel the Ahsoka series. I mean, I'm pretty sure this is an internal-generated op. Trannies have been screeching about it for years, but Disney is now green-lighting the rags to run with the outrage so they can be all "Oh no absolutely horrible I guess we have no choice but to cancel this thing we have put zero effort into other than announcing it"

Dude, fucking imagine the state of Fandom Menace and Filoni Fags if the Ahsoka Series got shitcanned. I almost want that to happen just to witness the fallout :story:
same my man, except no 'almost' here. seriously, let the SJW cucks from the story group accelerate their plans for the purge and feel like they're invincible - fire her ass, let's have at least 2 out of the 4 series destroyed utterly. burn it all down. shit, maybe they can come up with some smear against Temuera Morrison too and nail Book of Boba Fett right before it comes out too.

that way both the mediocre filoni shit goes down in flame AND everyone knows to blame the political fuckfaces at Disney for it. sounds like a win/win for the franchise imho.
