That started because a clique chat of every videogame journalist decided to release the same article about how people who play videogames are evil. And then someone leaked their clique chat's text messages.
Which is odd to think about. Gamergate had less to do with Quinn or her game, and more to do with how j*urnalists are scum. It was the first salvo of the "Fake News" era of journalists vs. normies.
