Yeah, I said that last year.I think there will be big time civil unrest if most of the restrictions aren't gone by June.
Same. And if I don't even care about my own safety, I sure as shit don't give a damn about your grandma's.I don't give a damn about my own safety at this point.
They do. They really do. Anyone who has rolled in liberal/woke circles for any length of time will see so much "low-information voter"-tier racist doublespeak it'll make their head spin.Unless liberals sincerely believe black people are all low-IQ ghetto dwelling idiots who fried their brains with crack.
BOTTOM TEXT sorry, had to be donewe now live in a society
There are so many things wrong with this unlogic that it's making my head hurt. For one, their constant refrain is that the mask protects other people, not you. For two, even the most lunatic doomers believe there are more ways to catch corona than by breathing maskless. Especially in a grocery store, the man could have touched something and then touched his eye or some shit. Third, there is just about no way they have actual proof he got it in the grocery store as opposed to being breathed on by a delivery worker or something. Lastly, by his own admission, it was the BIL's own fault that he didn't wear a mask and he's somehow trying to shift the blame for the BIL being (in his mind) an irresponsible retard on to random politicians the brother has never met taking maskless selfies in the lobby of a hotel a year later.
IMHO I believe it's just the perfect storm. Society and culture had been on a slow, downward spiral for decades now with the world going to shit, and what we're currently experiencing is just a byproduct of that. Despite information being at our fingertips, education has gone to shit and people are complete dumbasses. Peak Americana after WW2 has made everyone gradually fat, lazy, and apathetic. Entertainment and media are at an all time low. Easy life and poor parenting has made people cowardly, timid, and prone to being gaslit and succumbing to authoritarianism. Now that a global pandemic is a thing in our lifetimes, our society reacts by bending over and taking it up the ass unconditionally. People are either too weak and cowardly or too lazy and stupid to do anything about it.Where did we go wrong? At what point did this timeline get railroaded into becoming some 1984 dystopia?

That's part of the whole purpose of this mask bullshit. Everybody is so apart now. Hell, any one of us could have seen a friend we haven't seen in years and just walk right by because we didn't notice because of the cuckmuzzle.I miss smiles. I ran into a girl who had feeling for me growing up and had a really cute interaction and she was beaming so much that I could see her smile through her muzzle and her eyes lit up. But it made me really think of how many smaller interactions I used to have, and how much better the interaction would be without the mask.
The first gearshift happened on September 11, 2001.Where did we go wrong? At what point did this timeline get railroaded into becoming some 1984 dystopia?
Why not both? The scary part seems to be that no one knows what should be done. I am frustrated and was foolishly believing that once dementia Joe got "elected" that the liberals would let up. They surely would get things opened up and get the economy back on track. It seems more than ever they are going to be content to be king of the ashes at this point. At this point as soon as possible I am buckling down and storey food and bullets. Certainly voting a third party and maybe moving to a more sane part of the country. This can't really go on another year... Right?! I know, rate me optimistic.. People are either too weak and cowardly or too lazy and stupid to do anything about it.
As a Society? When we allowed "Two weeks to flatten the curve" and allowed Mask Mandates in the first place.Where did we go wrong? At what point did this timeline get railroaded into becoming some 1984 dystopia?
We are either going to have a baby boom because of the lockdowns (as there are quite a few couples that live together without being married) or a decline rate that would shock even Japan (though that one is okay because of the massive import of illegals --who may or may not have frozen to death with the blizzard that blew through texas a couple weeks ago).I'll be really interested in seeing the birth rates of these severely locked down places in the next few years.
Not just from the oopsies one night stands, but from the relationships that would have started in the past 12 months but didn't because people can't get together and hang out. And "somehow" the restrictions seem to be getting no better even though the vaccines are basically three months old now.
Pretty much everywhere around me has already written off this summer. There were more cancellations this week because New York State has basically said that there will be no permits for any outdoor activities for all of 2021. We're already at the point where we are hoping for NEXT (2022) summer to be more open, and it's not even March yet.
Look at Cuba. It used to be the crown jewel of the Caribbean. It was the best place in the region, and now people are simply used to buildings in Havana collapsing for seemingly no reason to the point where they can identify it and tell others right there to watch out that building's falling in a few minutes or so. A nation of zombies that will stand around in the park hoping to get a bar or two of wifi signal so they can message their family who escaped to give then some money to survive another month. A former export and manufacturing power that now has people who escaped work like a dog to send scraps of money back there. A nation that used to be a trade, shipping, and transport hub of the region that is now a place where fat, sunburned foreigners can trade a bar of soap for a fuck from a young girl who turned to prostitution. A nation that was the envy of doctors all over, where now the doctors trained before the revolution have escaped and become satisfied with being a nurse in a much better country and the ones trained afterwards are a big fucking meme that are just used to show the might of communism but have no idea what they're doing (Fidel used to get doctors from MadridI am frustrated and was foolishly believing that once dementia Joe got "elected" that the liberals would let up. They surely would get things opened up and get the economy back on track. It seems more than ever they are going to be content to be king of the ashes at this point.
I think since we're a year in, that we are going to know the answer to that one in the short term pretty quickly. We are either going to have a baby boom because of the lockdowns (as there are quite a few couples that live together without being married) or a decline rate that would shock even Japan (though that one is okay because of the massive import of illegals --who may or may not have frozen to death with the blizzard that blew through texas a couple weeks ago).
Well, they are opening things up and preparing for the return, they're just taking their sweet time doing it because, as others have mentioned, this vaccine rollout is big money for big pharma. Therefore, they need to wait until everyone has gotten vaxxed ( and the yearly vaccines that are most likely going to come are ready) so that people like Moderna and J&J can maximize profits. Make no mistake, they need this to end before the 2022 midterms, the fact that they fucked up the second impeachment trial, basically giving Trump a second life, scares the shit out of them, and they need a "win" to stay in power. Must be nice. My coworkers have doubled down on the mask thing because people are starting to ignore the mask mandates and ignore the people that obnoxiously attempt to enforce it (security/police have been called several times; because this is texas I'm wondering if the cops will eventually tell my company to only call them if there's an actual problem). Due to the business being privately owned, they can make up and enforce their own rules even if local restrictions decrease so I wonder if -when Abbott undoes the mask mandate- the company will as well or if it'll keep up with the masksMy boss just said fuck it to masks as long as none of customers complain. Reason given. She's tried of smelling her own breath.
ADE probably would have shown up by now, if not during phase I/II trials. A lot of these vaccines were being worked on almost as soon as the genome was released in January 2020 and some started trials in March.I haven't had a covid vaccination myself. I know two people who have had the Oxford jab which I know you didn't ask about but they were both fine so far bar one having a slightly sore arm the next day. I know three who have had the Pfizer so far, one said they were wiped out and tired for a couple of days the others were fine bar a sore arm.
I think there likely are more serious immediate negative reactions but anything that was more than a few % would have shown up clearly in the trials. It's likely less than half a percent who suffer a serious immediate reaction. Which to be sure is a big deal when you're vaccinating hundreds of millions of people but isn't going to show up much in random Internet anecdotes.
My larger concerns are long-term effects. It's quite possible there are some. Hell, it could even make getting the real virus worse through something called Antibody Dependent Enhancement (ADE) and it's just too soon to tell. But there's also the collateral damage of making the virus more deadly than it would be by removing symptoms but leaving it catchable and transmissable, thus removing evolutionary pressure to reduce severity. That's a non-sterilizing or "leaky" vaccine. And then there's just the scenario of governments in the pay of the trillion dollar pharma industry forcing everyone to have unnecessary vaccine shots whenever a Pfizer exec wants a stock bump.
Not particularly. Viral vector vaccines have been tested since the 70s, but if I recall correctly the only one that has worked/been approved is an Ebola vaccine.I've heard that the J&J viral vector delivery method is similarly new/untested to the mRNA method. Medical Kiwis, is there any truth to this?
A business near my area used to be like this. Then someone reported them to the gestapo and they got new management. What I'm saying is, don't expect this to last.My boss just said fuck it to masks as long as none of customers complain. Reason given. She's tried of smelling her own breath.
The local paper hides its editorias behind its paywall, but the short answer to your question is Pork. Just like with any other bill, the COVID bill has plenty of pork projects in it. The biggest one cited by the editorial was millions of dollars going towards a tunnel of some sort near Pelosi's home town. The editorial had it right when it said that either the pork needs to go or the money be instead allocated to actual COVID-related assistance (although we all know that won't happen due to the nature of partisan politics). This package just seems off to me. So much money yet where the hell is it all going?
I agree. The doctor that speaks on the local evening news and actually makes an effort to keep himself informed about what he talks about mentioned that it usually takes up to two years to become aware of the long-term side effects associated with a new drug, vaccine, etc. This is one of the main reasons I don't want the vaccine unless I'm ultimate required to get it for some reason. My larger concerns are long-term effects.
I agree. A number of seniors i know have "dumb" flip phones because they neither want nor need smart phones. They ask this very same question when the news reports that people are required to scan QR codes on their phones to do normal stuff while COVID restrictions are in place. Some places have paper forms that can be filled out by those lacking smart phones and others have begrudgingly hinted they could accommodate dumb phone users if they had to, but the truth is people are being pushed to do more stuff online whether or not its a good idea in light of privacy concerns. What happen to those who don't have it they can't go to restaurent? this is dumb
I thought a judge ruled eviction moratoriums unconstitutional recently
As @Beavis answered, this ruling appears to be local or limited to parts of a single state. Evicition moratoriums elsewhere are still alive and well with activists insisting they need to be extended indefinitely to keep people from being homeless. Of course, this doens't help the landlords who might have the rental property foreclosed on if they don't get the rent money they need to pay any mortgage or taxes due on it which would also leave the renters out on the street.I think it only affected east Texas but I could be wrong. Either way they’re not going to be extended now that its been decided we have to get “back to normal”.
When the economy is healthy, gyms and other related fitness centers have a hell of a time staying open in the US because there is so much competition in that industry from numerous franchises all trying to attract the same client base to their facilities. Consequently, I'm not surprised if the same address has seen three different gyms come and go because of how hard it is to start and successfully/profitably run a business with COVID restrictions in place that affect its money-making ability and ultimate bottom line.I went outside for a walk without a mask and got yelled at by a driver despite I was alone. And the gyms... The gyms here were forced to close. I've seen three gyms at the same spot come and go.
Pretty much everywhere around me has already written off this summer.
As much as people would like sports and other activities to go on like normal, the possibility the government could shut them down again on a whim is leaving many hesitant to schedule them like usual. I'm already seeing people that play a hobby-style summer sport scheduling fewer games than usual for this and other reasons.what about small things like sports and small family activities?
At my newer job, the boss only allows staff inside the building and told me that masks aren't required for that reason though he wouldn't stop anyone from choosing to wear one if they feel safer with it. The only time I've seen someone there wear a mask is when they had to pick up a package left in our alcove. My boss just said fuck it to masks as long as none of customers complain. Reason given. She's tried of smelling her own breath.
Ah two women in the pfp.
