This looks like an old photo to me from before her skin grafts. It looks familiar, like it's been posted in the thread before. I don't see it as the most recent on her Instagram, either, but I don't have an account there. The wounds on her legs in this picture don't match up in size and shape with the ones in her recent Dropbox videos.

Photoshop aside, I was wondering how her toe could possibly heal so quickly after the skin coming off.
I thought the photo looked very similar to an old one, but maybe flipped the image.

I just remembered, in September last year she had a doppler scan for circulation. There was some discussion at the time regarding how bad it was then, and she's had 6 months of digging to China via her legs since. (Sorry, dark humour). I'd try find it but tbh I'm only on my mobile and I'm lazy, plus it's getting late here.
I'd love some updated insight too.

Tbh I'd imagine Kelly's conditional is probably similar to someone with gangrene or diabetes. So amputate or death, basically.

She got that ulcer thing on her heal, then the skin came off her toe. I'm amazed they haven't operated already. How bad does it have to get before she can no longer refuse? Is she allowed to refuse and just die of infection or whatever? Is there a point that they would operate against her wishes to save her life?

She would be in the US, but I have no idea about Canada.

In the US, she'd end up signing a fuck ton of disclosures confirming that she's of sound mind, is refusing medical treatment, understands that she may die, etc. If she was in a hospital, it's a risky call for her doctors either way because of lawsuit potential. I'll bet the hospital's lawyer would make sure she'd had a recent psych eval to show she's mentally competent to make that decision, and that she's not refusing treatment out of depression, delusion or other mental illness reasons.

Kelly has a long history of refusing amputation, being noncompliant with treatments, and signing herself out of the hospital against medical advice. Her wounds are already colonized with bacteria, and she's on longterm antibiotic therapy at home. She is followed by psychiatry and I assume they've already done capacity assessments and found she's capable of making her own medical decisions (hence why she's able to sign out AMA each time).

Kelly will drag this out to the bitter end. Eventually her toes will fall off on their own, and/or she will suffer a bad fall at home. This may or may not be the wakeup call she needs to get a proper amputation. Or, she will develop osteomyelitis/sepsis and become incapacitated. At that point she will be inpatient in an ICU and the decision will be made for her. Unless she has documentation (DNR/DNI - which I doubt she does) her team will take aggressive measures to save her life, including amputation... but that'll be after she's been tubed/sedated and they'll get consent from a family member. She's just not there yet.. but you bet she will take those rotten legs with her as far as they'll go, because they're "hers".

In the US (I don't know about Canada), a patient can be tossed out on their ass if they're not in immediate danger of death or increasing odds of great bodily harm/maiming by being thrown out/forcibly discharged. [I'm referring to "maimed" by the lack of medical treatment, not by the patient herself]

That's how they get belligerent homeless patients out of the hospital, as understandably a homeless person may prefer a warm, clean hospital bed to a homeless shelter or park bench. There are videos on Youtube and World Star of hospital security guards marching obviously-troubled patients to the bus stop on the corner.

But if the patient is in immediate danger (or immediate-enough to scare the hospital lawyers), then yes. The hospital can't throw out a deathly ill/potentially actively dying patient who refuses to leave or be transferred to a different hospital. Even a rotting Munchie like Kelly (if she was really going to die upon being kicked out) - her estate/family could sue the shit out of the hospital.

The legal question comes down to how immediate is immediate, are they actually actively dying and/or in danger of rapidly escalating "great bodily harm", etc. And the hospital's frustration with an uncooperative patient doesn't cancel out that patient's legal rights to make their own medical decisions if they're medically competent.

Keep in mind, the US has a terrible problem with medical practitioners and hospitals getting sued for $$$. Malpractice premiums are sky high, and go up every time the hospital has to defend itself in a lawsuit against some idiot like Kelly and/or her family if she dies from rotting feet.

Edit: to clarify that I mean "maiming" and "great bodily harm" by the hospital forcibly kicking the patient out, not by some nutjob like Kelly picking apart her own legs when she got home. The hospital isn't responsible for that.

I can't wrap my head around someone doing this to themselves, at the same time as apparently desperately not wanting it to result in amputation or worse. It's such a grim reality she's chosen and actively worked towards.

They’re on a kick about taking her off the list because they doubt she’s faking.

I haven’t caught up on the thread, was it confirmed that she’s getting her legs taken off?

I've looked at her insta periodically since I first heard of her, it's interesting that she's almost a different person. She's certainly good at what she does, and has a good number of people ready to jump on anyone who even suggests she's anything but an innocent sufferer. She's also gained a huge number of followers in that time.

My first post on the farms was in this thread about how much of a Kelly hugbox it is over there. No facts allowed, and mentioning this thread, or the farms in general is verboten. Comments with kiwi farms or kf were getting deleted by an automod, so.. non-related comment mentioning “breakfast” for example, gone, because KF in the middle. Fucking laughable. What could possibly be on the farms that the mods are so afraid of?

Reddit is exactly what pushed me to start posting here vs just lurking threads, so hi, fellow ex-sub member! The censorship over even simply mentioning a thread that lays out all the information on these “subjects” they talk about is wild, I don’t know really why they’d do it save for the hugbox shit and because we are “mean” here. They’re enabling her terribly. I wouldn’t doubt that they are just worried they also may be called off as a munchie or something.
