I have a friend who was in a class once in FUCKING BERKELEY. This class was in the social sciences but had nothing to do with troon issues. There was a person in her class who had a male name (like Steve) and who presented as a male (male haircut, men's clothing, no tiddies, no hormones) but who demanded to be referred to by female pronouns. One day, someone said something that was intended to be gracious and welcoming towards people of different gender identities/expressions. Steve flipped out and said that he could not fucking believe how offensive what this person had said was. Half of the class asked Steve if he could elaborate on what was offensive, while the other half said that the burden should not be on oppressed people to educate their oppressors. This was basically the end of the class as a functioning entity. It went off the rails into people arguing about this shit.

This was part of my peak trans and part of my peak woke.
