Any ways why do people hate Marie so much? I mean Im not what you would call a fan of her character. I mean her poetry is fucking awful (though i kind of suspect that may have been intentional) and the party members are a bit too forgiving of her acting like a douchebag but otherwise she seems fine.
I didn't hate her either, though as someone who never played the original Persona 4, even I can tell that she feels a little shoe-horned in. Everyone immediately takes a shine to her, even Kanji, who she constantly insults, and Rise, who's clearly jealous of her relationship with the MC. After you hang out with her, all of your friends will be like, "Wow, MC! Marie was great! We should all hang out again sometime!" the very next day.

Her poetry is obviously supposed to be bad, but I got annoyed when I just wanted to fuse/register and I have to waste time waiting for the MC to be like, "Whoa, a poem on the ground for the 50th time!"

Then, there's her being the very last person to wake the MC up in the very last fight, even moreso before his own family members, one of which he saved the life of.
People that compare her to Poochie from The Simpsons aren't really that far off base.

How's the city in p5s?
Sucks about royal not quite getting in. I would hope Kasumi is considered canon though tbqh. She was lovely. Maybe the sequel to strikers.

Doesnt she basically get weather report as her sta- persona in the fighting game. Anyways yeah her biggest issue is not getting as much pushback from the main cast as she should.

Also was anyone really surprised that Naoto is secretly a reverse trap?
Only the biggest brains don't fully level up Courage and Knowledge and approach Naoto prior to the kidnapping to ask "him" out.

and then realize that you can't do the same if you did level up Courage and Knowledge beforehand because "he" doesn't think of you as a drooling baboon

I need some alcohol to wash away my thoughts on this. The mental gymastics for people to believe this is outstanding its like they didn't even pay attention to the story and the amount of times people had debunk that theory.
They're in the same category of people that think that cutting Yosuke's romance route was done out of the desire to appeal to an audience that didn't want That Gay Shit (regardless of its being completely optional) instead of the development team realizing that he had been hung up over his dead crush for pretty much the entire game and most of his SL.

Also those that think Kanji is an out and proud homosexual as opposed to just being a vulgar but sensitive dude with a very obvious thing for Naoto.

It's almost like they took his shadow completely straight (no pun intended), but didn't do so for anyone else.

I mean Kanji probably is bi (remember he like everyone else didnt know Naoto was a woman) but he leans bore towards heterosexual attraction than same sex attraction. Also remember that even dressed as a guy Naoto still looks and sounds pretty feminine.

I played Digital Devil Saga 1 for the first time a bit earlier, playing just the starting first hour or two. For some reason, going into it I expected a story less over the top compared to mainline SMT, and somewhat more reigned in like the Persona or Devil Summoner games.
Instead, I got a story that felt more over the top than any SMT game, with the basic setup to the story being "hey you're a demon now against your will, go murder and consume the corpses of 99% of the population so that you can achieve Nirvana". Perhaps the story seems overly excessively over the top to me due to my own current intoxication, but the story seems absolutely bonkers so far and I'm excited to play the rest of it.
I just finished DDS 1 + 2 earlier this year and i gotta say it's one of the more streamlined SMT games, story and gameplay wise. Surprisingly, i enjoyed it more compared to Nocturne but it got a bit grindy towards the end since i was trying to get the ultimate mantra for everyone.
I think compared to the other SMT games, the story in DDS is more straightforward and concise, tailored for the average JRPG player and mainly because the game was meant to be an entry level for the SMT games. I agree though with the premise being wild and bizzare but not necessarily over the top, at least by SMT standard with the basic plot of all of its games are "world is fucked go fight god and reshape it".

All in all, the game is fucking great. You can jump right into it without prior knowledge of any SMT games and still have fun without getting your ass handed to you like any other mainline SMT games telling you to "git gud" in the tutorial level.
Also im just gonna say this outright, DDS OST is fucking godlike and even more apparent in the second game. Easily the best Shoji Meguro had to offer, it encapsulated Meguro's mid-2000s style of composing and probably was his peak performance and i will fight anyone who says otherwise.

8/10 "i do not comprehend".

For the most part, the modding community for P4G is pretty chill with them adding QOL features and what-not. A mod like this was bound to happen eventually so I'm not that surprised. There was even a version of the same mod for the original PS2 version too so this should really not be a surprise to anybody. There was a mod where Nanako wears a MAGA hat and shares her Voice Actor's political beliefs, but it was taken down, so the Gamebanana mods clearly don't want P4G's modding community to become a political shithole. It is still featured, however...
I would characterize this as more the usual double standard of ostensibly left-wing positions not being treated as political, but as normal.

So you're right, but for the wrong reason.

Fuck yeah, the OST was one of the reasons that made me stay with the game. The shredding in the normal battles alone was great.

Man, P5S really is just a Persona 5 sequel, isn’t it? Obviously more streamlined than the main series, but it plays almost exactly like P5, only when you ambush/attack an enemy, it changes to muso gameplay.

Also, the English VAs for Ryuji and Zenkichi sound like they are just enjoying the hell out of their characters.

Which is a full blown game as well, with several dungeons and side content but it lasted me around 40 hours

Not that I'm complaining, I wanted to replay FF7 when I was done with it

I'm in the minority but I'd say portable over FES, but if you really want to go nuts do both.

In FES/Vanilla, people tend to make a big deal out of non-controllable party members but they mostly do the correct thing (and are frequently psychic about enemy resistances and when they will melee crit) and the player character has huge amounts of power and versatility, even very early on.

It surprised me at how much it was just 'real time Persona'
Think I prefer the real deal, something feels off with all the design (not just half of Shibuya being inaccessible. X and O still being in the jap orientation is really wonky too, considering the original was released with the western style

The problem with FES ai is that you need to unlock tactics option through story progress. For example, early on tartarus where you fight 3 bird boss that weak to pierce, Yukari will always knock down one and hit it again instead of knocking them all down. Unless you know to equip a bow on the protagonist before hand that fight is a pain. Also one of your companion will always die to moonless gown guarantee before you can change their tactics.

And the arguably more frustrating thing is that when you use multi target magic attack in FES, if you missed even one you get denied one more, so the ai prefer to using single target magic over and over again due to higher accuracy, further wasting time and their sp. Silver lining is that you get full heal back at the entrance for free, but in exchange your tired companion automatically left.

I like how one of the major villain of P5S looks like
anime Tony Stark.
Hell, he basically is
anime Tony Stark
considering he’s a
genius in charge of a tech company and uses a A.I. for stuff.
