Half the reason these scumfucks even decided to reduce the threshhold for cutoff etc was because "we need to give it to poor people because they'll spend it back into the economy while middle class and well off people will just save it"
Well, gee fuckin golly, how long do you think the poverty will be cut when you have millions of people going out and spending their stimulus checks within a couple weeks? That's right, no one involved in this actually thinks it will reduce poverty significantly or anything else - they are literally banking on being able to send people money and then have the people send it right back in the form of taxes/purchases/etc

Looking at Californians is why I have such a negative opinion of moderate Leftists. They're like Joe Rogan or Tim Pool where they seem reasonable and they might even agree that SJWs are a serious problem, but when it comes down to it, they always back the Left no matter how nuts the policies and even their own leadership is.
