I don't think either him nor her father are the bad guy. If you listen to the video I was transcribing, she clearly is manipulating her father quite hard. She is screaming at the poor man about how terrified she is of Jack yet how she NEEDS to call him to stop him from electrocuting her brain or whatever. IMO he sounds defeated as fuck trying to calm her down which I would be too if I had to deal with her constant manic episodes.
Jack is describing him as someone who prevents Lizzy from getting help for rather bad reasons and it's a simple situation of he-said-she-said to us. I don't think that Lizzy's dad is truly evil or doing this out of malice - I could see her dad allowing this to happen to get a divorce if he really hates Jack for some silly reason, but that would be about it. Maybe getting rid of his horded stuff is enough to make him that malicious, who knows?
With your post, I think he might just be a completely defeated old man, that wants to take care of his daughter, but doing a miserable job at it. We know how vicious Lizzy is during a psychosis, just imagine her on a psychosis on cold turkey. It would not surprise me if her dad settled for pot-smoking Lizzy, cause that is slightly better than to have her go completely wild over not being allowed to smoke. I really don't know how cannabis makes her tick, but I would assume that it means she's rather mellow for some time (ie: Dad has his peace) and once the main effect wears off, manic Lizzy emerges and writes angry shitposts, yells long tirades at her phone or makes weird videos.
Her dad might just not have the willpower/patience to suffer through Lizzy's anger-phase once he forces her to drop the whacky tobacky, so he endures her comparatively short moments of delusions every once in a while, when she comes off her high.
Also,
@Trombonista, I guess we can get Jack the validated thingy.
Nothing will change, this will drag out.

His description of KF isn't far off the mark tbh, though as usual with outsiders, he kind of overlooks that we don't seek out contact with lolcows. It's just that when a person stumbles into this place, we don't pull any punches and this is still a site to derive entertainment out of weird people.
This isn't a nice place, but I think the overall tone in this thread is rather compassionate (well, in terms of the KF average), but we still joke about the situation - maybe indeed as kind of a vent. Be that as it may:
It's certainly interesting to have his side of the story to figure out just what the hell is going on in Lizzy's mind, much of this stuff we knew from her ramblings, but without the context, it was impossible to puzzle it together.
I threw shade on him in the past for not helping her, but it seems that he's really at the end of his rope and there is too much going on outside of just her own situation that kind of leaves him at a crossroads of choices and none of them seem good. But as I said earlier, I doubt stalling and lingering at this crossroad is doing anyone any favors.
Whatever you decide to do: I wish you the best of luck.
Sappy stuff once more done:
"For a straight guy a healthy amount of homophobia" is a pretty funny line.
And since I'm a huge sceptic when it comes to all things supernatural, him talking about his karmic bond with Lizzy is just really weird to me. He thinks he might have abandoned her in the past and his duty is now kinda to fix her in this life... well... maybe it's the opposite? Maybe he didn't abandon her in a previous life and this is why he's still bound to her?
I dislike this supernatural stuff for exactly that reason, you have only very vague cause-and-effect relations and it's entirely up to interpretation... and it's really easy to connect a random """cause""" to a random """effect""" when you do it in hindsight. And when it makes predictions, they are usually so vague either in what they predict or when that it becomes meaningless anyway.
It seems that Jack and Lizzy's ideas of these karmic things were pretty much in tune, though.
Edit:
Lizzy rated this post within 30 minutes, she's still watching this thread like a hawk.
