I feel like the cleanest route for the defense is to argue that Floyd wasn't crushed, choked, asphyxiated, suffocated, strangled, denied air, what have you, but instead his oxygen saturation plummeted leading to cardiac arrest.

I think there's a good chance either the defense has been gotten to by BLM/Antifa and compromised or there's some bullshit de facto thing that will more or less forbid the defense from striking down jurors.

Both the prosecution and defense only have The prosecution appears to have 9 peremptory challenges and the defense has 15 which allows them to remove potential jurors without giving a reason. I believe one of the tweets stated the defense has only used four such challenges so far -- one of which after they unsuccessfully attempted to remove someone for cause. If either side used all their peremptory challenges up immediately, the other side could use that to stack the jury in their favor. From my own experience with jury selection, attorneys tend to be rather strategic (think of a chess match) when it comes to using their peremptory challenges and save them for potential jurors who show either a clear bias towards one side or some sort of conflict of interest.

The sad part is that even if a truly impartial jury were to be seated, protestors will still find some reason to continue their bouncing and squeaking regardless of the verdict. Whomever gets seated for the jury is definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place.
