I would also consider Haachama and Calli to rank highly, they aren't as good raw singers as a lot of Holos, but stuff like Red Heart and Cursed Night really hit me good.

Haachama is not impressive at singing per se, but she's a master of making things catchy/memeable. In the Senbonzakura mashup for example you can hear her going off between stanzas, even if during the actual singing you can barely tell her apart from the others.

Risu is pushing the boundaries of vtuber content.

This is the inverse of cardboard Calli, kept the model but removed the voice. A lesson for Zentreya perhaps?

It's kind of depressing to realize that every stream you ever do will have the exact same reaction because these people are content to spam the same message over and over again for the rest of eternity. It's a problem that all streamers have to deal with because 'streaming culture' is mentally retarded.

It is a bit depressing. . . but it comes part in parcel. As much as the streamer makes the community that follows them, that same community forces the streamer to adapt a more extreme version of the character.

It ties into my responses earlier about people overreacting to the Kiara bit. . . a lot of what people doompost on is pretty clearly a schtick that she developed pretty early on from fan-feedback. All of these 'personalities' while real to a certain extent, are also played in a certain way for entertainment. Circling back to Kiara, you all (and myself actually too), don't like the menhara, clingy, yandere and pouty shit. . . and Christ-only-knows how much I despise Takamori. . .but a good portion of her fanbase eat it up like a fat kid at a buffet. Look at the fanart, the chat going BRRR whenever anything along these lines happens. The fat shaming thing? Her chat went wild with laughs and jeers at the guy getting sent to the Gulag.

It is pretty clear that it works for her purposes. It isn't some crazy manipulative plot against the rest of Hololive. . . it's the show she puts on for her fans.

People in this thread are so fucking thirsty for milk that they're starting make mountains out of molehills. Inter-JP interactions have had more than their own share of cringe moments in the past and people just wave it off as typical JP weirdness. This isn't that much different.

I'm really happy for Anya, she and Reine are so obviously huge fans of EN branch. Reine and Calli's Minecraft collab was more like Reine giving Calli a tour of the server.

Singing skill is actually a low priority for me behind how much they seem to enjoy themselves, how often they sing, etc. How often I can catch them is obviously a big filter. I listen to Sora and Azki music a lot, so I class them as singers on their own.

Dude. I was actually just thinking that to myself. And I love Rushia, but she gets so much of a pass because she is adorable and her voice is fantastic in both normal and EVA01 forms. I do think she does a better job of it than Kiara does on a professional note, but essentially the antics are almost exactly the same.

I think it's more that the super-clingy manipulative gimmick is seen much more positively in Japan than in the English speaking parts of the world. Rushia being a yandere will have fans.

Hell in Japan it's given a fetish name, "Yandere", while we use words that make us frown to describe it.

Being clingy, manipulative, and overbearing is rarely seen as a positive in our part(s) of the world.

Also there's something to be said for how Rushia leans into it in a way that makes it clear it's a gimmick like when you see her collab with Tamaki. What especially comes to mind is that Google Maps date where she was flashing jpegs of lengths of rope and duct tape on stream for half a second.

Calli: cant die instead she fall asleep, her wine and the guzzler hat are items, heals in graveyards and buff Kiara at the cost of sanity, she is literally a critical machine that can and will rape everyone if you keep her sanity and soul mechanics going

Kiara: obviously cant die but she burns when resurrect, problem is the explosion of her resurrection burn any item nearby except the ones she come with, her shield for some reason has a name and she come with a buff if she eat things related to birds

Gura: she get hungry faster but the modder counted how hyperactive she is and gave her a speed boost on land and water problem is she can only swim... with a floatie , the ability to jinx herself was also added, you cant get more realistic even if you wanted

Amelia: she is literally Tracer from overwatch, comes with her Asacoco custom Watson Concoction that give her random buffs also Bubba accompany her and he mostly act as a mobile item bag, if she is doing terrible her Salty gamer perk activates, she gets angry and drop a crystal of salt

Poor guy that created the mods is on the comment working overtime to fix any bug before the collab

My top 5:

1. Azki - don't really listen to her music. I put her on the 1st place mostly because of her pre-hololive career
2. Sora - same reason with Azki
3. Suisei - same reason with Azki, but I do like some of her songs. Her powerfull with a bit of raspy voice is really good for rock
4. Gura - my personal favourite. She simply has the golden voice, which is extremely pleasant to listen to, while also has respectable skills for someone who just sing for fun. She can hit and hold pure notes, has great voice control, and delicious vibrato that melts my heart.
5. Towa - Her live performance is pretty good, and I like her new song.
