I think the numbers will never quite match reality due to the number of people who present as trans online and not IRL, or who become trans without seeking any medical attention, or 'transition' to nonbinary and back again without any significant transition actually taking place beyond wearing fruity clothes. I knew someone who was basically painting his nails and presenting as trans online but too afraid to come out irl, then he snapped out of it and cleaned himself up before ever coming out or seeing a professional or taking anything for it.

There aren't a lot of good stats on it either way. And they'll usually admit it themselves in some kind of have-it-both-ways afterthought like they tend to do when you show evidence of puberty blocker fuckery. Funny enough, lots of troon programs and studies (Tavistock caught shit for this) are notorious for not keeping track of participants afterwards.

Trans activists and MRAs do occasionally converge on the same talking points, for obvious reasons, but neither group is actively shilling for the other one. Having sat through hundreds of hours of Honey Badger Radio to research this, I can confirm trans activists are basically an irrelevance to MRAs.

And to the trans activists, MRAs are another type of Nazi, albeit not quite annoying enough to deplatform, but certainly not worth them listening to. Except for that time Contrapoints threw a bone to them in 2019 (which, even at the time, felt kinda weird) but that’s about it.

And the reason trans activists simp for MTFs so hard, compared to FTMs, is that they kinda threw the latter group under to bus when they put out the narrative where MTFs are the bigger victims of transphobia and misogyny (despite claiming cis men have privilege for being born male). They even made a word for it: transmisogyny. It’s almost like they realised male troons will only be accepted as the real and valid women that they really truly are if they’re bona fide victims of misogyny. Because what is a woman if not a victim?
