Oh, some of the those mainland guys are rich alright. Their country has a huge amount of emerging middle classes, and with a society devoid of meaningful aspirations like the rest of the world has (religion, belief, ideology, etc), the middle classes spend what they can on pure escapism. Of course, however, the escapism they consumed there are tailored for the culture grown by the Party. Notice how a lot of chinese games has huge elements of tech wear or sci-fi? Thats because spiritualism or religion are shunned, and the ones that are popular are based on their ancient culture that the Party recently tried to promote when they realized they're lacking behind on that aspect of soft power. Also notice as well that the type of sci-fi popular in China is a very sanitized and atheistic as hell, a reflection of their belief of a futuristic and materialistic science utopia under the Party.

As for the piracy, maybe its just their culture. They pirates shits for decades. Old habits die hard. What's important though, is that once your work got pirated on the chinese internet, its there forever unless the Party nuked it

No, no, its wholla lot different. We are escaping, yes, but we still have another thing that drives us to live, an aspirations. In a country where everything of their life is decided through personal/family connection, wealth, and literal test, the chinks are much more escapists in both literal and figurative sense

Also, why do you think the chinese LOVE anime girls (and boys?). Same reason as us, but they a lot of them has more money to spend for that because they have no other outlet to vent their frustation
(Also I suspect the overworked stat of their society skewed their perception of romance and relationship, also the disproportionate ration of men and women making a lof of their men venting their sexual urges through anime girls)

A 3-way portioning of her future YouTube revenue is still a massive cut into her earnings. I doubt she's interested in starting back up from scratch and having to answer to "management" after making it as an indie for years. Not a fan of her, but from a pure monetary standpoint, remaining as an indie makes sense as far as she's concerned.

Exactly. If Nyanners wanted to go to hololive, it would make no sense for it to be an audition, it would be a negotiation directly with cover. She's as big as their biggest stars. If anything, cover would have a harder time explaining what they could do for her than the other way around. She'd be giving them a huge % of her revenue.

Nyanners can be hit or miss, but I really liked her FFX stream. She knows a *lot* about the game, and hearing her talk about it was interesting. She had no trouble with combat, but she was so bad at blitzball.

Speaking of catgirls Pikamee's return stream is painfully cute. She said that the vet told her her kitten only had 10 days to live. Her mother drove like 10 hours to come be with her and help her out, an told her she had to be strong because she's the kitten's mom. She's been giving the kitten medicine every day (I've been there, painful). She also thanked chat for giving her the money for the treatments, which were expensive saying, "Socks is alive because of Mommamee and you guys"

She's being buried under red superchats now, so that kitten isn't going to lack for medicine.
