According to Crumb 8BitShinobi is still having the virtual con and Vic couldn't go because of a scheduling conflict. Stephanie and Chuck are still going to be there. From this stream
I keep seeing people go after this guy, What did he do other than prematurely announcing sponsors, is it a scam or isn't it?

Speaking of the original Vic Stan, I took a watch of the Canucklehead (Crumbreon's) latest stream. A little too much view of Crumb's fivehead, but you can just tab away.

Stan starts talking at around 20:15.

20:25: Vic has the same agent as William Shatner. For some reason he was personally negotiating with the Vegas con.

20:55: Vic was pissed at Elliot Plank.

21:30: Going back to the agent thing, apparently Vic has his agent handle book deals or major cons. Vic likes to negotiate for small cons. Stan is of the opinion that something is up as for why Vic wasn't using his agent for the negotiations.

28:20: Stan doesn't think it was Amanda Winn-Lee who did the actual inference. He believes it was someone else within the (Creation?) organization

30:10: Stan has had to deal with guests of honor that have had restraining orders against another guest of honor. Sounds like a barrel of fun.

45:15: According to Stan, English staff and voice actors cannot be advertised unless the license holder approves of it. This is concerning Monica getting angry when Vic's name appeared on the Euro Tsubasa DVD set but not hers.

Then it devolves into general flaming of conventions.

EDIT: never mind.

1:45:35: Stan is working with Vic to put together events where Vic can appear. The Risembools are involved, as well.

Forgive me if this is late, but I'm going through all these AWL related tweets from a page back.

People saying, "the Amanda Winn Lee Pen Pen video has been around for 20 years" are lying shits. It came out in the early years of the internet and fell off and was considered lost media for a long time. To the point of mythical rumor and people doubting it actually existed. It wasn't until a few years ago that someone found the old QuickTime video on a old hard drive, converted it, and put it back online. (I believe it was even kiwifarms own @Captain Manning. Please correct if I'm wrong.)

Also, it's flat out the reason why she was effectively blacklisted from huge portions of the industry and why she didn't return as Rei in the Rebuild movies. An actual producer from Japan was there with his family, saw it, and was horrified. It's also the start of the bad blood that developed between the old ADV and Gainax. (One of the main reasons why Netflix had to redub Eva.) Look up the drama over the live action Eva movie from the early 00's. Weta workshop actually did concept work and lawsuits started getting thrown around.

It was a God damn disaster that cost thousands if not millions of dollars. Playing it off as nothing is disingenuous or stupidity to the nth degree.

Funny you should say it cost "thousands, if not millions, of dollars". I remember years ago, ADV Films were suing Gainax because they had no rights to making live-action movies. I'm looking through a forum from an Evangelion fan website right now (called evageeks.org) and they spoke about how ADV films had sent $100,000 as their contribution to an upending live-action Evangelion movie's budget, but Gainax rejected it and even sent the money back to them, thus causing them to lose a movie deal and beginning the lawsuit.

EDIT:

Long story short: anybody who thinks AWL did on stage is inconsequential and had no impact are living themselves in denial and that includes some of her friends and especially her fans.

The fact that many fans are simply unaware of stuff like this, don't even bother doing the research into this stuff, don't care and instead prefer to simp for the VAs is why I'm pretty much done with much of the anime/manga fandom. (Especially the ones on Twitter)

Interesting they have the same agent considering Shatner is not a fan.

The conspiracy theories about insiders interfering is insane. It's all about money. Vic has so much more pull in the anime community than Trek. He doesn't work on anything that makes Paramount money, so if someone who does expressed concern, the convention would back them.

Conventions in general and especially this Creation event are in a downward spiral. If Vic can find shows better suited to him, he should spend energy going after those.
