Alpacas are cute. When I was reading up on them, I got the idea that most people who keep alpacas don’t rely on them as a livelihood. It’s either serious ranchers/farmers or wealthy, horsey types who have a few around as a novelty.

What floors me is that - with only a cursory amount of research - anyone with the least bit of sense would come to the conclusion that it is a very bad plan to depend on farming alpacas to make money.

But not the troons of Tenacious Unicorn! When your grasp of reality is that tenuous? It seems perfectly reasonable to expect that a small herd of alpacas could sustain and enrich a “haven" for anarcho-communist “hot girls" who used to have penises.

But they are likely to buy it once and never again because the quality is crap. Serious knitters -- the type who will shell out some serious cash for indie yarns -- are not going to keep buying that yarn. It is a waste of effort to knit something with subpar yarn. If people don't care about quality, they can buy acrylic or acrylic blends super cheap. Even Hobby Lobby has some alpaca blends. And I'd bet that the quality is at least as good, if not better, than the troon alpaca yarn.

Well, there's no indication that the troons actually do any vet care. A good portion of the feed was donated. And the alpaca rape shed isn't nearly big enough and has exposed insulation. They could actually turn a profit if they sold yarn. They don't really seem to be that interested in selling it. They don't seem to do any social media posting about it. No one is knitting things with the yarn to post on instagram or ravelry. Even if this were just a side hustle instead of their main gig, what little they do wouldn't be enough to drum up sales. I guess if you suck at running a business or personal finance, you'd end up blaming capitalism instead of your own laziness and retardation.

Smart kiwis broke down the reason why the recycling program would never ever be profitable and the only reason the contract went up for grabs is because the nonprofit organization that was doing it before went out of business because they couldn’t sell the recycle trash back to China anymore since China put blocks on importing garbage.

Citric acid powder as a threat is laughable . From what little I've read about it, it's weak enough to be used as a cleaning solution for humidifiers when mixed with water.

Alpacas are great guardians for sheep. They have a reputation for being cute and friendly, but they can really fuck you up if they don't like you.

Before the tranch, I had never seen a working farm with alpacas as the main focus. You get petting zoo setups, or those trekking things, but not alpaca farms as you do pig or sheep farms.

Did they pick them because of the aesthetic? I remember that llamas were 'the thing' to put on mugs, clothing, etc. a while back.
