Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Another useless cameo to entice people to buy a shit comic. Though I never understood what Durge was supposed to be species wise. I get that his species regenerates, but the comics depicted him with a fully formed face and I always thought disrupted the image of a writhing mass of tentacles inside that armor that Gennedy depicted.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abXU35cn_NA Oh joy! Looks like the Alien/Predator franchises might be getting the SW treatment! Aren't you excited fellow consoomers?

Imagine if they actually made something worse than the last Predator movie, or something so awful it'll have /tv/ start making "APOLOGIZE" memes for Prometheus lmao.
People have been wanting to take the Alien franchise from Ridley Scott's hands. It's only a matter of time before they give it to Blomkamp the one-trick-poney.

I wouldn't mind a Bluray remaster tbh.

Let's see, Blomkamp already used movies to ree about immigration, healthcare, and apartheid. I'm sure his Alien movie will have something to do with the alien killing Orange Man.

First thing that came to mind when I saw this news was that this was their way of trying to fan the flames during this whole Gina firing and George's virtual speaker dramas. Despite that, it gave me a nasty inkling feeling because Disney stated that only "canon-aligned' material would be allowed on Disney+ for some fucktarded reason, and then I realized that this means they might make it canon again (which I dreaded since this would mean bringing it up to CURRENT YEAR standards like they did Thrawn and the Lando Trilogy). I tried denying this might happen and that they're probably just looking for EU content to appease scorned fans... but then... I found it... the horror... the horror...

Yep... That's Durge... the real deal himself Disneyfied.
The only villain from Genndy Wars untouched by Filoni or Disney's corruption and who remained safe from their machinations, only to be re-introduced in a fucking Doctor Aphra comic... This can only mean one thing. He's going to get fucking humiliated just like every other OG SW character that's been set up with or against her...

Everyone fucking suffers. No doubt Durge will make some sort of "epic" appearance that's then followed by 2 issues of filler that ends with Aphra killing him by finding out that he has a weakness to salt or that he's a puny little smurf-sized alien or a human (as Filoni wanted) operating a mechanical suit from afar.

I dread what sort of things they have in store for the rest of Clone Wars. I had suspicions this would happen ever since a lot of Disney shit started referencing it bit by bit. Its only a matter of time before Kyle Katarn appears in Dr. Aphra to explain why he and Jan weren't the heroes of Rogue One...
WHY?! Why do they keep bringing this insufferable cunt back even though her book keeps getting cancelled?!!!

Kyle was essentially a player gary stu, right down to him once being apart of The Dark Side but now he's a good guy because you know it's that easy to get away from being a total sociopath.

He belongs in a B-Canon, and don't get me wrong I like Kyle Katarn (helps that his games were great) and he's nowhere near as absurd as Starkiller. But he should just exist within Video Game continuity.

The old Droids cartoon may be coming soon. They also announced the Ewoks movies and cartoons are also coming to disney+ (sorry if already posted):

If you’re even a casual Star Wars fan, you probably know that there’s a lot more to the Star Wars story than the nine-film Skywalker Saga.

There are, for example, Disney’s standalone films — Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) — animated series like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and a host of novels and other printed media that expound on various plot points and Star Wars characters.
What you might not be aware of, though, is that there are little-known Star Wars films dedicated to the native inhabitants of the forest moon of Endor
Star Wars fans were first introduced to the Ewoks in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) when they assisted Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
Soon, Disney+ will start streaming Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984) and its sequel Ewoks: The Battle For Endor (1985) on April 2. Also coming on that date are both seasons of the animated series, Star Wars: Ewoks. The confirmation comes via D23.

Both of these lesser-known Star Wars movies were based on stories by George Lucas, but were written and directed by different people.
Caravan of Courage was directed by John Korty and written by Lucas with Bob Carrau. IMDb features this synopsis of the film:
Wicket the Ewok [Warwick Davis] and his friends agree to help two shipwrecked human children, Mace [Eric Walker] and Cindel [Aubree Miller], on a quest to find their parents.

The sequel was helmed by brothers Jim Wheat and Ken Wheat.
The Battle For Endor is described as:
Marauders raid the Ewok village and steal a power supply they believe to be magical. Wicket [Warwick Davis] helps Cindel [Aubree Miller] escape the evil witch Charal [Sian Phillips], and they befriend a hermit [Wilfred Brimley] who may help them save the village.
The species may look cuddly — but they were also ingenuitive and not to be trifled with. Wookieepedia describes them as:
…sentient, diminutive, furry bipeds native to the forest moon of Endor. They were most notable for helping the Rebel Alliance defeat the forces of the Galactic Empire at the Battle of Endor, allowing the shield generator there to be destroyed, and in turn, the second Death Star.
Ewoks were curious individuals that stood about one meter tall; they were omnivorous and used spears, slings, and knives as weapons.

I remember someone on Twitter once saying that she was SW's "star Asian & LGBTQ icon" and that removing her would basically alienate the BBQ community, but honestly only ones interested in her seem to be fat balding middle aged Andrew Dobson-clones, a small part of the female demographic and the Twitter types who love "quirky Joss Whedon humor". And I don't know why the BBQ community would want to identify with a narcissistic, greedy, self-serving, anti-social and homicidal sociopath whose idea of fun is killing alien kittens while yelling "SNUGGLEBUM".

I would sort of respectfully disagree there since following media killed off his gf and had him give up the Dark Side after being told off and that using both was a dumb idea that would screw him over in the long run, unlike in Disney where Ahsoka is allowed to be a "gray force user" with zero questions that leads to her becoming She-Gandalf. And he had decent smaller roles in the novels like NJO.

I'm not surprised by the Ewoks stuff. First thing Disney shit did was recanonize almost everything about the Ewok stuff except the Towanis and the second film outside of outright declaring the films canon, and EAfront also had the Gorax cave from the first movie along with the Wisties.

Why Disney waited till now to do it is baffling. And all at the same time as they finally announce that they're going to make use of the rest of FOX's IPs like Alien and Predator...

Is it possible that FOX partly owned the rights to the other EU TV media? The only good thing about any of this is that this will mean HD copies of lost media which no one has been able to restore to the fullest, and that will be something worth YOHOHOing down the line.

If they do ever release the Holiday Special though (which Disney pretty much added to their nucanon shit with the exception of Mermeia, Krelman and Amorphians), it'll be nice to pirate-er acquire the animated segment in HD. Still a shame they ruined Ackmena and Krelman's Beauty and the Beast vibes by making her go full lesbo and killing him off.

The absolute fucking :lunacy:...

I don't understand how they can still believe this bitch is popular because:
1. Twitter has demonstrated time and again not to be a reliable source for gauging popular sentiment.
2. The "popularity" of her old comic series was not only rock bottom, but also only being held up to what pathetic numbers it had due to being bundled in with Loot Crate shipments. When that temple of consoomerism collapsed, so did her comic's sales numbers.

I suspect she's only popular among the narcissistic hack-frauds that write for Marvel these days.

I'll still defend Prometheus as a solid Science Fiction film with some God-Tier visuals because that is in fact Ridley Scott's greatest asset as a director. He even elevated something as middling as "The Martian" that could have been a Michael Bay tier schlock had it not been for his gorgeous art direction.

Utter shame that he was obviously forced by the studios to immediately connect it back to Xenomorphs. Prometheus could have stood on it's own just as a story set in the same universe.

I haven't even watched Alien Covenant because I don't want it to sully my good memories on Prometheus.
It's not an Alien film though dude. It's Ridley Scott deciding to rework the Alien: Engineer script with a writer for Lost to try and distance itself from the work he did like 40 years ago based all on one prop, and let me tell you, reading the older script was a lot better in terms of motives for the characters and said characters not being hideously stupid.

Prometheus would have been okay to good as a stand alone sci-fi movie, but I'll never like it for the fact he never fully divested it from Alien and is therefore a part of the franchise.

I don't appreciate his falling for the curse of sci-fi and sequels for it either, ie the phenomenon where sci-fi reflects the time it was made, meaning you have to think carefully if you're doing a prequel. Basically I don't like the Prometheus' stupid level of advancement, and no I won't even use the Nostromo for a comparison; I'm going to use Gateway Station for it. Explain to me why the hell a ship nearly 100 years old is cleaner and filled with more modern technology than a major spaceport and dockyard. Tell me why it's ritzier than the Wey-Yu corporate offices, including the room for the board of executives.

Also fuck it for ruining the strangeness of the Space Jockeys, them being giant blue man humans with heavy god elements was a lot less interesting than the Derelict he had Giger made, which was hinted to be a created ship with created organism.

And even if I was able to keep these elements off my head (hard to fucking do because of the fact it gets brought up in movie too often) it still has some of the worst written scientists around.

I also by this point am sick and tired of him relying on Director's cuts to fix his less competent movies, because this is like the 4th or 5th movie where people usually demand you watch them over the theatrical.

Basically, the fact it's tied to the franchise poisons me from liking it because he doesn't give a rotten shit about what he previously made. I could have dealt with my one gripe if the others were silenced by having it NOT be an Alien movie at all or even in the same universe.

Also if you liked Prometheus, don't worry, Covenant is an equal opportunity rapist. It kills Shaw off screen and has David be the super evil architect of the new and cooler xenomorph that he made in imitation of some statue doodles, oh and he can store their embryos in his body now and coughs them up in the end. Have fun with that.

The Ewok movies apparently originally aired on ABC in the states. From what I can find, the tapes were originally distributed by MGM, and then the DVDs by Fox in the US. The wiki page lists Fox as a co-producer of the films. There may have been right this issues or hell, just issues finding the original reels and getting them cleaned up from the archives.

At this rate, it is hopeful that most of the old Star Wars stuff will be available in some reprinted form. But given the nonexistent movement on the original trilogy as originally screened, I'm curious if George had some riders in the contract about releasing them. If so, I would imagine he also had something about not re-releasing the holiday special.

Anyways, onto the Star Wars news:

It sounds like Disney is just flooding their streaming service with EU stuff to try and entice fans to actually use said service now that they fucked up the Mandalorian with firing Gina.

And for Durge being raped by Aphra, the person so popular she got canned twice so far in like five years and ONLY survives as a symbol no matter the losses incurred on making her shit comics... yeah. It's standard Rat-brain thinking for Star Wars comics. Try and trick the retarded fucking crackheads Star Wars fans are with characters or fake surprises and then laugh as they realize it's all a lie.

It's standard as hell for them to rape and ruin. I'm actually surprised it took so long for them to bother with Durge.

Doesn't matter how minor you are, you're going to get fucked under Disney (even more so if its Dr. Aphra and her super edgy crew doing the fucking). Just look at what Hidalgo+JJ did to Dengar.

And they had Luke get a crush on Aphra only to get cucked by her lesbionics.
