I think the best way to phrase it is this:
The people in power, worldwide, do not have the morals of any sort of common man. They have nothing that can stop them from crime. They have never learned why wrong is wrong.
They see no reason why they should not take what they want. They take your money. They take all the days off they like. They take the most expensive foods for dinner, they take the bribes they are offered, they take the resources owned by others, and they, of course, take what they want from the bodies of others. They'll gladly use force and intimidation and cold hard cash to get any of these should anything stand in their way.
If the leaders of the world and the leaders of the corporate world and the leaders of academia see no issue with taking anything else they want, why would they care if someone doesn't want to be raped? Why wouldn't they take a child's innocence?

That's what it comes down to, I think. Elite echelons of all organizations world wide have no reason to not take anything they please. The only thing that threatens them is other elites banding together, and for things like morals, no other elites are concerned anyways.

Powerleveling here, but for my "investigation" into a Pedo into a modding community, I witnessed Child porn. It's horrifying. It's something you cannot ever get out of your head. I would never accuse criminals of being geniuses but I think many of them have correctly sussed out that they would be on a better path in life if they had not been victimized as children, and so they harbor a special hatred for chomos. I've heard the theory put forth that a lot of prisoners have kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids, little cousins, and so forth on the outside that they're not able to look after.

Might not have been my kid you raped, but it was someone's kid and since their dad couldn't kill you, well, good thing I'm here to do the job.
