Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

This guy must be from an
alternative universe that somehow leaked into ours. Probably because of cern

Why the fuck are they holding the meeting in Anchorage anyway? It's not a huge city that showcases the might of America.

You might as well invite them to Rochester.

The distance north and size of the Pacific means that Anchorage is roughly 9.5 hours flight time for both parties (coming from Beijing and DC, respectively). It's a pretty good midpoint for a diplomatic meeting. There's a slight hurdle from meeting on American territory instead of somewhere neutral, but idk if Canada was remotely interested in hosting them in Vancouver or wherever.

Too many CCP spies in Vancouver, I'd bet.

The only major difference is that instead of inventing power armor and stomping the shit out of China with it, we have trannies and maternity uniforms. Both realities end with the US being a wasteland full of ghouls.
What will we use as the currency in the wasteland? Bottlecaps seems a bit too on the nose.

same thing happens during tax season.
That's as maybe, but they're they are spending their own money. It was just nicked off them a while by the tax office. And I don't blame them if they're in minimum wage jobs that they can leave for a holiday and come back to. But here it's other tax payers paying for their time off. In the UK the schemes are for people who couldn't work or couldn't work as much because of the imposed restrictions. And there was a furlough scheme for businesses where you had to reduce staff for same reasons. But it seems like in the USA, it's just "here is money, please keep spending". So it seems not unreasonable there's a negative reaction to people getting these checks so they can quit their jobs. Am I reading this right?

Two reasons I can think of. One it's symbolically between China and the USA fwiw, Second, it's freezing cold and very remote, meaning chances of being embarrassed by hordes of people who think Joe Biden cheated his way to the presidency (narrator's voice: "he did") protesting is low.

its even better when you know that some use the H&R block cash advance debit cards after they file their taxes and end up owing hr block money because they lied on their documents. of course, they dont pay the loan (because hr lied and tricked them) and their credit acore gets dinged.

Not an American so let me get this straight based on a quick Internet search. H&R is a private firm that specialises in tax accountancy. People in the USA are routinely over-charged on their taxes and this company will provide you checks to compensate and then keep the rebate at the end of the tax year. And sometimes this firm exaggerates how much they will get and then they end up owning money to the company on an outstanding loan. And this company isn't shut down???

what exactly did CCP delegate say about BLM?

Even what was said was minor would still be a big issue with people who support BLM.
Since they get upset when you slightly criticize BLM.

And one thing that is very important, the fact that the NBA and lefty Hollywood (and others) have been bending the knee to the BLM and also bending the knee to CCP.

It's not what you think, if you're thinking it's either the Chinese diplomat making some racist statement or criticism of BLM. He makes a comment about how the USA keeps criticising China over its internal human rights and issues by saying that China has been making huge progress internally (and to be fair, if you're starting with Maoist China and national poverty as your baseline, I guess they have) and then following it up by saying USA has a lot of long-standing issues and uses BLM as an example. Now he doesn't say whether he means BLM as an example of injustice in the USA that is long standing or BLM as itself a social problem. Ostensibly he seems to be saying the former but he's a Chinese diplomat so some inscrutable subtle humour wouldn't shock me. But anyway, he didn't say "BLM bad" or anything like that. He said "USA attend to your own house, BLM = example".

EDIT: A couple of the news outlets are saying one of the Chinese reps accused the US of "slaughtering" Black people. But none of them give an actual proper quote and I can't find it, so take that as you will. Finding actual journalism these days is like hearing whalesong amongst the shipping. It's out there somewhere but good luck finding it amidst the white noise.

Presumably it would be pretty illegal to knowingly exaggerate that shit, and I would assume they take what the client gives them.

That or there's far more likelihood for domestic protests at any other conceivable halfway points. Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, any CA city would all have people protesting Chinese oligarchs buying up all the real estate and driving up rent prices.
(that's not the real reason rent is skyrocketing, but blaming the Chinese is a more convenient boogeyman for the bugmen in these cities than blaming byzantine zoning laws and constant NIMBYism about building new housing by their elected officials).
