I may be misremembering this myself, but I recall hearing that Geoff changed his name to Fink when his mother remarried and her surname changed to match her new husband's. Then later on, he changed his name to Ramsey at a relative's request who had no one to inherit his name. I think it was an uncle of Geoff's that made that request.
