Police respond to active shooter situation at King Soopers in Boulder
The Boulder Police Department is warning people to stay away from the King Soopers store at 3600 Table Mesa Drive because of an active shooter at the store.

Department officials tweeted the warning at 2:49 p.m. A public information officer was on their way to the scene. Further information was not immediately provided.

The King Soopers anchors a large shopping center in the southern part of Boulder, a few blocks from Fairview High School.

There has to be something else going on here, no way was it just a single shooter that they've already(?) apprehended.

They've done similar for non-events in the past, so who knows. There is nothing else for them to do, so they might as well convene at this known crime scene, I guess.

Powerlevel: I grew up in a neighboring town to Boulder (back then it was the conservative overreaction to the "Berkeley of the Rockies", now it's just Berkeley b/c of all the damned Californians invading).
My favorite "Boulder is retarded" story is when the city forced the county to illegalize shooting prairie dogs, and foisted a vacuuming system on ranchers to deal with it instead. Instead of fixing the problem or dealing with it more humanely, this created a natural selection for the wild prairie dogs to be smart enough to tunnel deeper to avoid the vacuum, meaning the wild population got wilier and more obnoxious and the relocated varmits got dumber and dumber.
I fucking hate that town and even though this is a King Soopers (meaning the worst Boulderites wouldn't be caught dead inside it), I have little sympathy for the victims.

I dunno, we just had a workplace shooting out in Oconomowoc Wisconsin, at a grocery distribution center. Two dead, happened about a week ago. Suspect named as Fraron Cornelius, a janitor at the facility, but of course no pictures have been shown nor interviews released with relatives or friends, which leads me to think he was black. Otherwise we'd hear a LOT more about it. He crashed on the north side of MKE, got out of the car and shot himself. So you see, it may happen but you'd never hear about it unless it's local to you.
