Saying that Incels want a Wife is generous, in reality they want a concubine(s). You're completely right about polygamy being a means for "resource" distribution, we see the inverse in Tibet where polyandry is practiced (men sharing a wife) due to "resource"/environmental differences.

Picture this: Some incels imagine going back to the days when women had no rights and were property. Because there isn't an "autism gene." There are a number of genes associated with autism, some of them also associated presumably with good things that are pro-survival. At least one theory about the "epidemic" of autism is that people who are somewhere on the spectrum where they're functional, who would have been monks or scribes or some isolated profession in earlier generations, are now actually getting married to similar people and having offspring.

And having a few of the "autism genes" can be good, but if you have too many you're Rain Man or worse.

I would say that things are a bit harder now with stuff like online dating, and sexlessness rates have been going up for both genders at an increasing rate. I think the problem is, at least for the younger guys, that socialization is getting more secluded especially in Corona times. The internet gives everyone of all types to seclude themselves in a bubble, whereas in the past a young guy with bad luck with women would either try something else to get a girl or just find something else to occupy his time with.

I would have some sympathy for young men like this, if what they wanted was so one sided. They seem to view marriage not as a union and as a one sided affair when it since the dawn of mankind has been a union. Even in the most traditional societies where there are strict gender norms, they would be expected to provide to their wife and their children and be a dutiful husband/father which is doubtful they'd be able to do so. I agree, but the main issue is that for women, it went from like 17 percent to 19, whereas for men it went from 19 percent to 30.5. And those men range from the 19-30 age range. That is an absolutely insane raise for one gender, even if women are very slowly starting to raise as well. There's also stuff like the average loss of virginity for girls is lowering while for men, it's raising into their 30's.

If we're talking about the incels that actually post on places like Incels.co, yeah they need to calm down. But I don't think it's fair to say every incel guy is just looking for a model tier concubine. Yeah I found it with a Google but where does it say the average age for men to lose their virginity is rising into their thirties? And your second link makes it pretty clear that incels like to cherry pick because only one set of data had men's sexlessness rising, two others didn't.

The two other lines besides GSS were for people who never married but had sex or were never married but living with a girlfriend.
I do think the growing cases of young men becoming sexless is more due to them just dropping out, instead of women wanting nothing to do with them.
