The most recent ban for calling out corporate hypocrisy is a perfect illustration of why SJW culture works the way it does.

There is absolutely, positively no way to pull a coherent set of behavior from it. Every possible stance is, in essence, equally problematic - because the world is made out of compromises and the Social Justice movement has, as a core tenet, the notion that compromises are just as wrong as pure evil.

So the only way to survive is to figure out who currently has power, predictively guess what they want to hear, and say it more loudly and more stridently than everyone else - while cultivating favors with that power, and with the people that you think will replace that power in the next coup. And then you pray that you don't guess wrong and get guillotined for backing the wrong horse.

The only way to survive is to inflict more damage on others than they can inflict on you, so that they never gain enough power to punish you for all the damage you and your ancestors already inflicted on them and their ancestors.

The answer is "because you go into these conversations all guns blazing and screaming about your victimhood status". Most people don't take pleasure in being cunts to people who are polite and approachable, and the ones that do aren't worth dealing with.
A sub-answer would be "If these people unironically refer to IRL Native Americans as 'savages', they're probably not going to suddenly develop a nuanced appreciation for Native American culture from a single conversation, and you need to learn how to pick your battles and not be as thin-skinned as a latte-sipping white girl."
