US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

President Biden recently held an undisclosed East Room session with historians that included discussion of how big is too big — and how fast is too fast — to jam through once-in-a-lifetime historic changes to America.

Why it matters ...
The historians’ views were very much in sync with his own: It is time to go even bigger and faster than anyone expected. If that means chucking the filibuster and bipartisanship, so be it.

Four things
are pushing Biden to jam through what could amount to a $5 trillion-plus overhaul of America, and vast changes to voting, immigration and inequality.
  1. He has full party control of Congress, and a short window to go big.
  2. He has party activists egging him on.
  3. He has strong gathering economic winds at his back.
  4. And he’s popular in polls.
Presidential historian Michael Beschloss told Axios FDR and LBJ may turn out to be the past century's closest analogues for the Biden era, "in terms of transforming the country in important ways in a short time."
  • Beschloss said the parallels include the New Deal economic relief that Franklin Roosevelt brought in 1933, which saved the country from the Depression and chaos.
  • And Biden is on track to leave the country in a different place, as Lyndon Johnson did with his Great Society programs.
People close to Biden tell us he’s feeling bullish on what he can accomplish, and is fully prepared to support the dashing of the Senate’s filibuster rule to allow Democrats to pass voting rights and other trophy legislation for his party.
  • He loves the growing narrative that he’s bolder and bigger-thinking than President Obama.
  • This temptation to go even bigger, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell insists, will create such a fissure between the parties that he compared it this week to "nuclear winter."
But we're told Biden won’t hesitate. Just as he passed the $1.9 trillion COVID rescue package with zero Republican votes and zero regrets, his team sees little chance he's going to be able to rewire the government in his image if he plays by the rules of bringing in at least 10 Republicans.
  • He won't rub their noses in it, we're told. That'll be the Biden touch to rolling the opposition — and getting that much closer to the status of latter-day FDR.
  • Biden's list includes: rural broadband expansion, which would be transformative for those communities ... make child tax credit permanent ... landmark legislation on climate, guns, voting.

so Question if the supreme court cucks does that mean you can only have you weapon at home nothing more .
or
will people be charged for bring a weapon in public place.
If they cuck it means that states don't have to offer concealed carry permits. Real states will keep offering them or maintain permit less carry, while the commie containment zones will eliminate them before the justices go home for dinner.

It will ignore the fact that people in those states have rights too.

Depends on legislation per state or federal government. But it would essentially modify the interpretation of the 2nd amendment to be similar to Mexico’s gun rights. Where you have the legal right to own a firearm but not to carry it outside your home.

From what I can tell, most Mexicans don't follow those laws anyway.

First, it's the 9th Circuit and they ALWAYS go for insane rulings, only to get their asses handed to them by the Supreme Court. Having lived out here for 40+ years, the 9th is a laughing stock.
Here in AZ, there's a gun behind every rock because we don't have blades of grass.
I could see HI, CA, OR, and WA getting punked by this and actually liking it. But not AZ or MT, ain't gonna happen.
And since when does the 9th have the right to override states rights?

I seriously doubt Manchin, at the very least, will support a gun bill. I could be wrong, though. It's like they're trying to set up enthusiasm for the GOP midterms, though.
The danger with Manchin and Sinema is that they might not go for some of the sweeping full retard gun grabber measures the House passed but they can definitely be convinced to go for some more incremental 'common sense' infringements. But to be fair, you could say the same for a fair amount of the Republicans.
Note that the initial appeal had already upheld the right to carry but the State of Hawaii just kept appealing it to en banc which is almost never granted except strangely enough for gun cases. En banc has a much larger ''''random'''' pool of judges sitting on the case and was previously used to kill the pro-CCW ruling in Peruta v San Diego and will probably kill the Duncan v Becerra magazine ban ruling which is set to be heard en banc this summer. You can thank Chief Justice Sidney Thomas for constantly pulling Californian anti-gun bullshit despite being from Montana.

It's literally just "our anonymous sources told us Joe wants to gut the filibuster" when hes thus far only mentioned wanting to move to a talking filibuster so I wouldn't take it as gospel.
They don't have the votes to eliminate the filibuster anyway. Even if they did, it would just open a can of worms akin to Harry Reid eliminating the filibuster for judicial nominees, which completely fucked the Dems during Trump's term.

Gun control, especially AWB, is DOA anyhow between Manchin, Synema, and likely Tester. If the filibuster was eliminated, immediate pressure would come onto swing state Dems in Wisconsin, New Mexico, PA, etc. to reject it. If they didn't, it would probably result in a repeat of 1994 all over again.

If the Dems are going to do anything big it will be on infrastructure and paid family leave, which is universally popular and can be done by 50+1 through budget reconciliation.
