Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Brazil is a tragic joke with a disgraceful leader

From what I heard, the biggest problem there are the sheer disagreements there over the state government and the federal government, with the former wanting to keep shit under lockdown even if its not sustainable (hey, its not like any of those politicians will face any actual repercutions for their corrupted actions) and the latter wanting to open things up. Something you must understand is that Brazil had its own "Trump" and its left isnt being subtle over its need to boycott his government so they will be able to install their Biden next election.

Went back to the gym today after I forget how many months. It was great to be back. Working out in a mask sucked though, and some of the full body exercises made me dizzy.
Thanks for the head's up. Guess I'll keep waiting. (:_(

tfw Jehovah's Witnesses don't bother knocking on your door and just put a letter in your mailbox to invite you to virtual church

There was a video posted here called "Operation Money Drop" of some protestors (fat white people mostly) walking into Trader Joes in some shithole state (California I think) and grabbing what they need while people and employees scream at them. When they go to pay, the employees won't let them check out so they just put the money down and get into a tussle with the manager trying to block their way.

I like that. It's perfectly legal (except violating the mask ordinance), makes the mask cultist's day shittier, and looks hilarious to anyone watching the video. Incidentally, you can legally assault (within reason) anyone blocking your way who is not a store employee since that is false arrest or false imprisonment (both crimes) and there are times even store employees can be assaulted for blocking your way (depends on the jurisdiction). False arrest/imprisonment is grounds for a lawsuit which could be easy money if done right, since the store won't bother wasting time and will pay you a nuisance settlement and fire the employee(s) which means you get paid for cutting off the income of a maskfag. It's hard for the maskfag employee to get unemployment either since they were involuntarily terminated.
This what I've been sperging about for a while. You don't need to do fed post things to jam shit up.

Any resistance is going follow the three d's.
Delay, disrupt and deny.

For example pretending to have your car break down on a bridge to cause a traffic jam is just as good as blowing it up. Both create the same outcome. Which is disruption of the local economy and supply chain.

Like wise dumping a truck load of sand (antifa used snow) to block the entrance of a government building to prevent employees getting to work on time is just as good as having armed gunman at the door.

For dealing with elected officials having an anti racist rally block them from getting to a vote on time is just as good as chaining them up and dumping them in a basement some where.

Each example has a non violent and violent approach. You can get away with far more with non violence then violence in current political climate.

I wonder why the EU failed in making a vaccine? Is it arrogance or have they lost the edge to the US and UK?
Well there are multiple issues, as far as I'm aware. There's the failure of vaccine creation (like the French vaccine which just totally failed completely) and then there's the failure to secure the deals and supply routes needed to actually produce and get vaccines. Trump went all in and spent a shit ton of American dinars on more than enough vaccines to vaccinate every single American from multiple different producers. UK did something similar (but I'm not completely knowledgable on the specifics) with Oxford and AZ.

Why did this happen? Not really sure, maybe a Eurofag can chip in. From what I'm gleaning, it seems to be a mixture of EU failure, mediocrity at the top of the bureaucratic food chain, infighting, a focus on preventative measures over exit strategies (e.g. plans for lockdowns and slowing the spread, but fewer for actually getting out of the pandemic), and ineffective leadership. Throw in some Anglophobia in part to cover up for their mistakes, and you get the situation in the EU today.

Funniest thing about EU failing on this is that even on a scum filled hive like reddit, you see pages of British commenters saying "Wow, everything they said about the EU during Brexit was proven true."

I mean they're right. I voted remain but every single thing the eu has done has proven they're run by cunts. Makes me wonder why people in eu member states tolerate that shit.

One of the few positive things about NYC is that it's more acceptable here to tell someone to go fuck themselves to their face. I think in my home state them's would be fightin' words, but here, people accept the abrasiveness to an extent.

I was walking down the sidewalk, mask under my chin because I am outdoors (I don't believe the masks work to begin with, but, outdoors they certainly don't). On the sidewalk in front of a theater there was some kind of production going on where they had tents set up, people walking too and fro wearing badges, and what looked like actors and actresses, with the requisite staff, for some theater event. Whatever it was, with all of the tents and gear, it took up the whole sidewalk, except for a small 4 foot wide passageway (still on the sidewalk). As I'm on my way about my business and walking through this, a security guard steps into my path and tells me to put my mask on over my nose and mouth, as if he had the authority to do so. Guy was acting like I was an interloper invading their space, when, they had completely taken over the sidewalk. I enjoyed saying to him: "I'm walking on the side walk, fuck you" as I walked past him lol. Though I was still a bit peeved about it an hour later that some security guard thought he could police pedestrians who had no choice but to walk through their setup.

Isn't Biontech german? And the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was developed by a belgian daughter company. I guess being pushed by or cooperating with an american company helps, because the purely german Curevac is still being tested.
The big problem in the EU wasn't necessarily developing a vaccine, it's mainly getting them approved and procuring them. The EU bueraucracy makes approval harder, and since the bigwigs upstairs decided that vaccines should be bought by the EU and then distributed, the process of getting enough vaccines is incredibly bloated and inefficient.
And the bueraucracy only begins there. Even when we have enough vaccines, the process of getting people vaccinated is bloated and inefficient as well. They set up these vaccination centers/stations which are super expensive because they require waaaaay more people than really necessary (literally people there just for the paperwork). They have few vaccine dosages, so they want to strictly adhere to their priority lists. But they also sent 80+ year old people 22-page-long paperworks to get their shots, and now they're wondering why they're not coming. And so on and so forth.
The science is fine here. They did a good job developing vaccines. But it's bueraucratic hell here, made worse by the absolutely retarded decision to let the EU handle vaccine procurement and distribution.

MPs to vote on extending emergency Covid powers to autumn

MPs will vote later on extending emergency coronavirus laws in England for another six months amid warnings of a "checkpoint society".
The government says the measures are still needed to deal with the pandemic as the country moves out of lockdown.
Some Conservative backbenchers have expressed concerns about the extent and length of the powers set out in the Coronavirus Act.
A group of lockdown sceptics is calling for a suspension of the rules.

"Lockdown sceptics". They'll be calling them lockdown deniers next.

At least you're calling them "lockdown sceptics". Here they're just calling them "Covidiots", "Covid Deniers", or worse. It's a puritan cult.
They are the Flagellants from 14th century Europe in the plague years, demanding you to start flogging yourself and going to the extremes so the plague goes away. If it does, then it's because their measures were successful. If it doesn't, then it's because people like you weren't repenting enough so God is still punishing everyone.

Speaking of "lockdown skeptics" (lol), has the WHO ever clarified their statement that lockdowns are bad because they increase inequality and violence against women and may not significantly slow the spread of disease?

On top of that, who knows how many "Corona cases" were misdiagnosed flu or cold infections.

The symptoms for all three are fairly similar, so I wouldn't be shocked if people just assumed they had Corona.
By the 98% drop in flu cases last year, probably all of them.
