The story is that Katrina (the former top mod) put Bubbles there as a placeholder account in case she wanted to return to the subreddit, but that it was left unused. I mean it's not a bad idea to give yourself the option of returning, and since Bubbles was the top mod, the others couldn't remove it.

It sounds pretty plausible to me, especially since all the mods were removed/re-added 5 months ago. If Katrina wanted a placeholder account at the top, she would have have had to do exactly that. Someone obviously put Bubbles above nekosune, and there's no reason why nekosune would do that. If you control both accounts, it doesn't matter which one is at the top.

I noticed this after Liz Fong-Jones (a former Google employee) started harassing my email server's VPS company. I made a thread containing their complaint. Now, unless you search explicitly 'kiwi farms' or similar, no mention of Liz Fong-Jones on Kiwi Farms appears in search results at all.

Basically, Google has a lot of Ts in their workforce that will happily censor the forum and hand curate search results for other Ts.

This is why I use duckduckgo now. It may not be the best option but it's certainly a hell of a lot better than using google.

So why take the sub private when you do this? So you can scrub modlogs and modmail that would show what you did. This info is recoverable and visible to admins anyway, but most people would just take the janny position and not snoop too much.

Not to ramble too much on politics, but I think you're way too optimistic about how the tranny movement is about to run out of steam.

After gay marriage was legalized, there wasn’t really anything for the left to point at and cry bigotry about.... except for the tranny‘s. There was an infrastructure built around gay rights and once gay folks received the right to marry, they really didn’t have an issue to fundraise off of.

It took them a couple years, but they had to shift gears. Now anybody who doesn’t think someone who went through male puberty should be competing against girls in sports or that 8 year olds shouldn’t be on hormone blockers is a horrible bigot. It’s fucking insanity, but it generates revenue for the activist organizations who in turn drive folks to the polls. That’s the reason you had Joe Biden praising the contributions of Black Transwomen during his campaign.

Even the subreddits that went private during this whole debacle are reopening with a thread threatening “TERF’s” with being banned if they talk about this dude’s gender. I’m a middle aged moderate conservative and it’s strange how I used to mock radical feminists and am now lumped in with them.

This movement isn’t going anywhere.
