315 The lack of boosting of IgM was likely related to an expected class switching to IgG, observed
316 with increasing IgG titers observed following the boost. Conversely, the lack of boosting of IgA
317 observed across all women in this study was unexpected. This lack of IgA augmentation may be
318 related to the intramuscular administration of the vaccine, which triggers a robust induction of
319 systemic, but not mucosal, antibodies. However, higher levels of IgA were noted after the boost
320 in pregnant Moderna recipients, potentially attributable to enhanced class switching following a
321 longer boosting interval. Robust IgG levels were noted in all vaccinees, and vaccine-induced IgG
322 was transferred across the placenta to the fetus, as has been noted in the setting of influenza,
pertussis, and other vaccination in pregnancy16–18 323 . The presence of neutralizing antibody transfer
324 in nearly all cords, and improved transfer with increased time from vaccination, points to the
325 promise of mRNA vaccine-induced delivery of immunity to neonates. Transfer would perhaps be
326 optimized if vaccination is administered earlier during gestation, though this needs to be directly

327 examined in future studies. While the transferred levels of IgA through breastmilk did not
328 increase with boosting, IgG transfer increased significantly with boost, resulting in the delivery
329 of high levels of IgG to the neonate through breastmilk. Importantly, emerging data point to a
330 critical role for breastmilk IgG in neonatal immunity against several other vaccinatable viral
pathogens including HIV, RSV, and influenza19–21 331 . In contrast, IgA dominates breastmilk
profiles in natural SARS-CoV-2 infection22 332 . The different isotype transfer profile for breastmilk
333 (IgG in vaccine, IgA in natural infection) likely reflects differences in antibody profile
334 programming across mucosally-acquired natural SARS-CoV-2 infection versus intra-muscular
335 vaccination. Whether breastmilk IgG or IgA will be more critical for neonatal protection remains
336 unclear.
337
338 Based on what is known about other vaccines, the amount of maternal IgG transferred across the
placenta to the cord is likely to differ by trimester of vaccination16,17 339 . Based on data from natural
infection14 340 , qualitative changes in vaccine-elicited antibodies are likely to profoundly alter
341 antibody transfer, and immunization with a de novo antigen earlier in pregnancy is likely to
342 increase placental transfer. Understanding vaccine-induced antibody transfer kinetics across all
343 pregnancy trimesters will be an important direction for future research. While timing maternal
344 COVID-19 vaccination may not be possible during this phase of the pandemic, understanding
345 optimal timing of vaccination to augment neonatal humoral immunity remains important. Unlike
346 vaccines that aim to boost pre-existing antibodies (e.g influenza and pertussis vaccines), optimal
347 timing for de novo vaccine administration remains unclear. Thus, as the prevalence of SARS348 CoV-2 community spread decreases, different factors such as optimizing neonatal immunity via

349 placental or breastmilk transfer may be weighted more heavily to inform future vaccine
350 deployment.

353 Following EUA for the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, safety information has been tracked by the
354 CDC using the V-safe smartphone application. Consistent with our observations, the V-safe data
355 indicate no significant differences in post-vaccination reactions in pregnant vs. non-pregnant
women aged 16-54 years23 356 . While the side effect profile of pregnant women receiving the
357 COVID-19 vaccines was not significantly different from non-pregnant women, the relatively
358 high incidence of fever (up to 32% following the second dose), raises a theoretical concern for
pregnant recipients24,25, although the level of risk remains controversial26 359 .
360
361 Clinical Implications
362 When considering vaccination in pregnancy, evidence regarding maternal and fetal benefit, as
363 well as potential maternal and fetal harm and effects on pregnancy outcomes should be weighed
364 carefully. While the absolute risk of severe COVID-19 is low in pregnant women, pregnancy is a
risk factor for severe disease27,28 365 . There are well-documented maternal, neonatal, and obstetric
risks of SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy29–33 366 . These data provide a compelling
367 argument that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines induce similar humoral immunity in pregnant and
368 lactating women as in the non-pregnant population. These data do not elucidate potential risks to
369 the fetus.
370
371 Research Implications
Journal Pre-proof
18
372 Future studies, in larger populations spanning vaccine administration across all three trimesters
373 and evaluating associated fetal/neonatal transfer of IgG via cord and breastmilk, may enhance
374 our ability to develop evidence-based recommendations for the administration of vaccines, and
375 particularly different platforms, during pregnancy. While limited evidence of antibody376 dependent enhancement has been observed in the context of pre-existing natural or vaccine
377 immunity in adults, future studies should carefully examine the impact of transferred immunity
378 on infant immune response, and should define the optimal window for immunization to empower
379 infants with robust immunity.
380
381 Strengths and Limitations
382 This study was limited by the select population of primarily healthcare workers from one US
383 city, the focused time frame with limited number of delivered participants, inability to assess
384 persistent immunity, and the exclusive focus on antibody titers rather than T cell-driven or other
385 functional immunity. Future work examining T cells and other immune functions may provide
386 additional insights on mRNA vaccine-induced immunity in pregnancy and lactation. The
387 strengths of this work include: the provision of longitudinal data profiling vaccine-induced
388 immune response across contemporaneously-recruited pregnant, lactating, and non-pregnant
389 women; the ability to compare vaccine-induced IgG titers to those from prior SARS-CoV-2
390 infection; and the inclusion of 10 maternal/neonatal dyads, demonstrating transfer of vaccine391 induced IgG (including NAbs) to the neonate, with improved cord titers achieved as interval
392 from vaccination increased.
393 Conclusions
Journal Pre-proof
19
394 COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy and lactation generated robust humoral immunity similar to
395 that observed in non-pregnant women with similar side effect profiles. While humoral immune
396 response and side effects are only two of many considerations for pregnant women and their care
397 providers in weighing whether or not to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in pregnancy, these
398 data confirm that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines result in comparable humoral immune
399 responses in pregnant and lactating women to those observed in non-pregnant populations.

Maybe it's just a sign that the rna they are injecting into the moms is getting to work in those baby cells too. It's not getting the immunity from the mom, it's getting prenatally sick and responding.

Although, not sure babies have anything but their mother's immune system for a bit, so maybe not.

Yeah, people in Miami were wildin'. Covid was a convenient excuse because in the past the ACLU has got on the cities ass for racism when they cracked down.

The city can't help it that South Beach is where gangsters from Atlanta come down to and bring their beef with them.

Most people I ask don't even know what version of the vaccine they are getting, they just sound tired and seem like they just want to get it over with, they will usually yell the risks at me, and then say they don't care. Sorry about that friend. I have a couple things I mention to people who ask me if I am getting it, one of them being a simple "I just don't really want to be part of the clinical trial phase" Something about the words "clinical trail" usually give people pause. If you say "I don't want to be a guinea pig/lab rat" then it doesn't seem to have the same effect. Most people don't understand what you have to sign off on for a clinical trial.

I feel like I am being coerced to take the vaccine, I am also giving up my legal rights by participating, because the drug companies are immune to litigation.

In terms of faking it, grab a vaccine selfie (like one of the people in line) put you face/body in instead. Then print off one of those cards, and watch a recent youtube video or twitter posting where the clown shows the vaccine card, and use the lot number etc. Should be enough for family members. Hell, you could even text them the pic of you in line, and be like "sigh I'm here". Just make sure its the same resolution as a normal picture you'd text from your phone.
I've tried bringing up similar concerns but nobody is listening to me. They'll kinda just nod along or just go "well this is just what I heard in the news so" and bring it up again the next day like I never said anything

It's been a fine tightrope between autonomy and keeping the peace.
I've got pics of one of my family members cards as well as a scanned blank one. I just need to find someone who can write the info since my handwriting is really recognizable.

As long as nobody is with me during the actual process I think I can slip by.

Can Farmers from Latin America confirm whether the info in this article hinting at total rop-off of their countries by the likes of Pfizer is correct? I mean damn- I knew they are making money hand over fist, but this?

"Pfizer has negotiated hard

To make matters worse, the vaccination campaign in most South American countries has been doing rather badly than well , as the figures from Oxford University show. Negotiations with the manufacturers turned out to be difficult, and Pfizer in particular negotiated hard. This is suggested by research published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in collaboration with regional media. Pfizer has demanded far-reaching guarantees for the delivery of vaccines from Latin American countries. "Pfizer wanted embassy buildings, military bases or parts of the national bank reserves of the countries to be signed over as collateral. The countries were allegedly not trusted to pay for the vaccines. The governments of Argentina and Brazil should even take over claims for damages from people who suffer from side effects of the vaccine, "reports Latin America expert Peters.

Some countries felt like they were being blackmailed. Government negotiators spoke of "harassment at the highest level". Pfizer has repeatedly put pressure to order more vaccine. A negotiator on Pfizer's side even said the sentence to a government: "You will kill people, they will die because of you"."

I get not trusting certain countries, especially ones that might flip socialist at the drop of a hat, to pay off their debts, but what the fuck Pfizer?
Also wanting military bases in South America as collateral? ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE PEOPLE REASONS TO MAKE CONSPIRACY THEORIES!?!? Why the fuck would Pfizer want military bases in South America?

For my installment of Vaccine Cringe, here is this video I heard about today. Just reading the lyrics while it is muted disgusts me (especially the line "I don't have to live in fear")

I never thought I would live through a dystopian nightmare but it certainly looks to be the beginning of one. Seeing masks being featured as the "new normal" just feels wrongs. But what really has been bringing me down is what @The handsome tard said. The US (along with other Western countries) has become a nation of cowards. For all the talk of learning from history so not to repeat it, we certainly failed those basic instructions. People would tout how they would be that one guy in the crowd who doesn't salute but ever since this started, I saw them not as that one guy but the crowd. Even though my parish has been returned to limited services for some time there are still other restricts, which has disheartened me since my religion emphasizes not living in fear.

It has been getting harder and harder for me to find a trusted individual I can talk to given how polarizing this all become.

Got my new driver's license today in my new state. I did not wear a mask, nobody even asked me if I had a medical exception or seemed to care. I also wasn't the only one there without a mask, including a few of the workers. Glad I found a better place to live where my rights are respected.

Had some Culver's for dinner, their cod sandwich is tasty. Busy weekend, I'm going off-roading. Hope everyone is doing well :optimistic:

The gayest timeline ever is where it turns out that Skynet is a Pfizer subsidiary.
I am convinced that Skynet would be an upgrade.

an AI would be smart enough to realize that keeping the populace happy with low taxes, low prices on products and effective governance s the best way to keep people from trying to set everything on fire.

I don't get why people are treating the COVID vaccines as miracle cures of some sort, given that, under normal circumstances, most people get flu shots (and the like) every year.

I've been saying it since the lockdowns began, it is the next stage of "Consumerism"

"LYFESTYLEBRUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" has now infested every aspect of our society.

What you watch is a lifestyle brand to consume.
What you wear is a lifestyle brand to consume.
What politics you follow is now a lifestyle brand to consume.

Every disaster, every disease..every little event will now be a package for you to consume and post on "THE SOCIALS" in order to prove you are part of the current fashionable crowd.

Welcome to the hellscape that 1984, Idiocracy and Demolition Man have predicted with a dash of Tomorrow Never Dies. The Details are off..but Fiction always gets those bits wrong.

Public media politbarometer one month ago: "A majority is for lifting of Corona restrictions." Same politbarometer today: "There has never been a majority for lifting Corona restrictions."
Literally. They LITERALLY said this. And their mindless drones are defending it. "That was before the 3rd Wave!" Well, yes, but saying that there have never been a majority for lifting Corona restrictions is false. It. Is. False.

/edit: Another thing I really enjoy about the Branch Covidians is when they talk about ICUs. "The numbers are going up, ICUs are getting swamped, doctors are already fucked!"
-"But the ICU stats have been practically the same since last August, the only thing changing is that empty beds are removed and put into the emergency reserve."
-"BUT THE ICU NUMBERS AND DEATHS RISE WITH TWO THREE FOUR SIX WEEKS DELAY WE'LL ALL DIE"
People going "UUUUUGGGGGHHHHH this school tested 3/4 of their pupils and they had an incidence of over 600 SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN ALREADY". When an incidence of 600 at a school means, what, two positive tests? With a test that has a false positive rate of >1%? Using the incidence per 100,000 people value for small groups of a few hundred people means that every single positive case raises the incidence by a 100 or so. Fucking alarmist bullshit.

I'm tired bros. Been trying to break up the monotony of doing the same exact thing every day, and it helped for a bit but it's all coming back again. You ever see those sad videos from shitty zoos where the animals are just pacing back and fourth, back and fourth, over and over behind the bars/plexiglass? That's how it feels in my brain.
And here, they're doing it on purpose.

The (admittedly very thin) silver lining is that leaders will have to show whether they actually can lead or they'll sell their people and their nation down the river for some international news media asspats.

I want to believe this is really well done satire of these sorts of people, but deep down, I know it isn't. You could have done all of those things for months, if you and your local politicians weren't huge pussies.

Aside from that, I just wanted to verify something mentioned further back in the thread about Ontario, so I checked the Public Health site, and officially, our positive test cutoff point is 38 cycles, still, despite many health experts, Saint Fauci included, saying that that's way too high, which is why cases have been rising, but deaths consistently falling. I can't wait to tell people that Big Dougie is lying to us about how bad this thing is and get called a science denier
