I think by "Earthship" they just mean they're building it out of dirt (and other stuff). I seriously doubt they're putting any effort into making a proper Earthship.
Nah, they bought an unfinished Earthship project in an adjacent lot. But given that the alleged 30% required to completion probably require the complex waterworks system, they're probably just gonna drill a well and install a camping toilet for the troons looking for a "save haven" to LARP in.

Their choice of firearms and plate carriers confuse me, but they all seem to be the "I'd rather have a dozen shitty guns than one or two good guns" kind of people so that's not really surprising.

They seem really hard for Ruger for some fucking reason. I mean, Rugers are...fine. Their rimfire guns and hunting rifles are pretty damn good, and their centerfire revolvers are bomb proof, if rough looking. But the rest of their lineup isn't great. Definitely not anything I would personally own to trust my life to in a firefight. For hobbyists and casual shooters, they're serviceable. I think it's Bonnie who owns that Ruger pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm, and I'm betting he bought it because he was too fucking poor to own a real Fabrique Nationale FiveseveN, and he would have been much better off buying a decent 9mm like a GLOCK G17 or H&K VP9. There was a SWAT team local to me who bought FN P90s for their entry team to replace their aging HK MP5s, and they ended up putting the P90s in storage to only be used if they have to respond to a situation where someone is wearing body armor because the 5.7x28mm rounds were so ineffective at stopping an unarmored assailant. They'd have to dump damn-near the whole 50rnds into a bad guy to stop the threat. They ended up getting KRISS Vectors in .45 ACP for their entry team and they've been very happy with them.

But, yeah, the Troonicorn Tranchers definitely seem to be "quantity over quality" types who don't research whatever kit they acquire, and generally ignorant of firearms in general. I know at least one of them had some kind of military service, and I'll bet they were some rear echelon motherfucker and not infantry or other boots-on-the-ground MOS. And even if they were, that means sweet fuck-all regarding their knowledge of weapons. I've known plenty of former military who go to buy a gun when they return to the world and ended up buying some piece of shit AR like a Bushmaster or Olympic Arms because "it looks close to what I was issued in the military, so it must be just as good" and then are totally confused when they have reliability issues.

I do love the idea of a bunch of mentally unstable non-producing males in dresses huddled around a burning oilbarrel, shitting in a hole surrounded by old tires and glass bottles thinking “goodness we’re so much safer here than when we were in our warm apartments back in the city” to then be interrupted by Kevin blasting whatever he’s watching on Disney+ from the warm professionally designed and built dome.

And that last line is exactly why the tranchers have them. Ruger is even more of a "Good Enough™️" brand than PSA (disclaimer: I own multiple Ruger products and I enjoy each) and considering the tranchers are hardcore larpers it's fine. They're never actually going to shoot at other people so it doesn't matter, just like their """body armor""" being totally worthless. I've said it before in this thread, the tranchers represent a modern trend in gun ownership where owning guns crosses over with being a soy-based consoomer and it's more important to show off online than it is to actually know how to use and/or enjoy shooting your guns.

I hope this tac team rocks Bobergs as their sidearms since it seems they only buy meme guns.

Ruger’s really good products are their bolt guns, and their semi auto rimfires, their revolvers are also pretty good but that’s more of a niche that’s hard to completely fuck up. The Mini-14/Mini-30 are fine, but they need proprietary magazines, that only work with that gun (then again I have an FAL and Vz58 so bitching about proprietary magazines that not everyone offers is a bit hypocritical I know, but I knew that going in) and they’re based off the M-14 action so I really don’t see the attraction. I’ve heard OK things about their AR’s but really, Ruger’s only notable as one of the few US gun manufacturers who aren’t completely coasting on past success or brand name - they make good stuff at a decent cost, and at least make an attempt to keep up with new market ideas.

S&W are mediocre, Browning is kind of a joke now, Winchester doesn’t do shit, Springfield and Colt both completely coast on their brand name and “remember the 1911 and M16 that’s us” and Remington is fucking dead because they were a shit manufacturer.

NEAG getting that gov't contract and switching to ARs was a dark day indeed.

Legit question- you think these idiots will be filing for the small business gimmes from Biden ? A federal grift would be hilarious especially when they get investigated. I mean I doubt they would be eligible but then again...
I thought they applied for a grant to do the recycling that they've apparently given up on.

Because Ruger sounds manly. :story:

Love how half this thread is just /k/ and the other half is purely just “think of the Alpacas”.

On another note, do we know who exactly runs the Twitter account? Because it seems like they have a genuinely terrible sleep schedule, with them still tweeting after 3:35 am

Honestly sometimes I wonder if a gun subforum be good here but with the type of forum KF is, probably not. We do have the Mega Rad Gun thread but it doesn't get a whole bunch of traffic. The Guntuber one is more popular.

It could be any of the retarded trannies who live there. If you aren't staying up until 6am watching anime with extremely feminized men and a 900 year old dragon who just happen to look like an 11 year old girl, are you really even transgender?

Yeah a gun sub would 100% lead to an even higher level of glowie infiltration.

links for whoever wants them

I think Penny and the Tenacious Unicorn Ranch Twitter have said the same post near succession before.

I researched alternative/sustainable housing pretty intensively in the past, and afaik earth ships are only a good option in places that are dry and not too cold. You would have to be a retard to build something like that at the tranch. The way roads get torn up by small amounts of water freezing & expanding, forming small cracks that give way to large ones, is exactly what is going to happen to the walls of that thing if they complete it. They would be lucky to get two winters out of it. The funniest scenario is one where they take a bunch of the bottles they were supposed to recycle and encase them in the walls as a way to let in some light and to decorate, as some people do in earthships built in appropriate climates.

It was discussed in Kevin's thread but I don't think they ever actually received the grant or even finished a proposal. But I may have overlooked a relevant post.

It seems like the recycling scam was years ago with all that has happened but it hasn't even been six months since they supposedly were going to do it. :story:

They started doing it, but never got the grant and the whole thing was abandoned.
Some news on the recycling. Looks like they gave up on doing everything but cans. Meh.

Usually I'd say "the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence", but I'll make an exception for these exceptional trano rancheros.

Honestly if you can put a magazine down your hallway and hit a person sized target without jamming you're covered for any reasonable home defense situation. We can get autistic as we want about which make and model is the best, but if we're talking realistic scenarios "A gun just expensive enough that it doesn't jam every other shot" is just about the peak for self defense rifles. You're probably not going to get into a situation where a thousand buck Ruger AR-15 won't cut it but a suped up $5000 one will, just about any gun is going to be more accurate than an adrenaline high civilian and if you're shooting at a distance where you can't hit with 30 rounds you are really pushing the home defense thing.

There is a reason why they say "the best gun for self defense is the one that is closest when you need it".

Anyway the Ruger love (As I said before I also love Ruger :feels: though I admittedly only have bolt action and rimfire from them) is probably because they sell militaristic looking guns for relatively cheap. You can get a .300 win mag for under $500, but you'll get a hunting rifle that looks like a hunting rifle and not a big hunk of black plastic with a muzzle break. Its the poor man's version of the .50 BMG they probably actually want. Like other people said they got the Ruger 5.7 because its cheaper then the FiveseveN and that round is advertised as beating armor.
