Oh for sure. It won't be permanent, is rarely is for these types, but it was certainly an unwanted slap in her fat drunken face. She's also going to have to watch herself even more carefully because this will never be completely forgotten and if she even comes close to fucking up again it will be brought up as proof that she was always garbage.

There have been spinsters and infertile women since the beginning of time who managed to live meaningful lives. I think the problem has more to do with the r/childfree mindset of dodging responsibility to live in endless childhood. A lot of people need to accept that they're not exceptional, and that most of them would be happier living their life in some version of the usual pattern. Lindsay was never going to be a research mathematician and would probably have been happier with a more traditional life- it wouldn't even have impaired her writing career, a lot of early sci-fi/fantasy authors were mothers of school-aged children.

I guess it's nice that we made society more accessible for top 1% IQ autistic-spectrum women and other massive outliers, but society keeps trying to include rarer and rarer outliers at the expense of nearly everyone else.

Here’s the question: does Lindsay have the size or scale to make a comeback? She’s certainly big enough to have the attacks on her be noticeable. I was also going to talk about what it’s gonna take to return from a cancel attempt, but I can’t think of what it’d take to achieve that feat except not giving a damn.
