Like, I despise Ellis and what she believes in, but some critics here are like “leftist empty carton bitch who got an abortion is cancelled let’s feast on her corpse”.

Usually there's a trend in cancellation, where after the initial racist/transphobic/whatever act, people start going back through the targets history.
That doesn't seem to be happening yet, nobody on twitter is mentioning the rape rap for example, or how she stuck with channel awesome right up to the point where she'd developed her own audience.
I mean she's always been very careful of what she says about CA, most likely because the Walkers have a ton of emails and chat logs that they can release if she ever does.

Whenever I see stuff like this or Spoony/Doug's content from back in the day, it makes me wonder how these people ever found success. Everything about this is fucking horrible: Lindsay's delivery is so stiff, the audio/video sucks and the jokes are fucking awful.
I don't know what people got out of this when, by the 2010s, there was so much better stuff on YouTube.

The only things I hope is Lindsay is laying low and biding her time. Not for a comeback but hiding in the tall grass and taking aim at Kyle and Tony. She probably knows shit about them they don't want out especially Kyle so when she when strikes it will be amusing.

The term "cancel culture" is still overabused to fucking death and anyone who unironically uses it should not be taken seriously regardless of views, even if they are political or not, especially that we reach a point where even some minor backlash is considered "cancel culture" that it's bullshit.

I'm not talking about the snowball resulted from the "minor backlash" which would be enough to destroy your career (which leads to loss of sponsors and views and being shunned), I'm talking about how even some minor criticism which people didn't want to go further would be considered "cancel culture" and the whole idea of "I don't like cancel culture but I'm fine with cancelling this X for doing Y" bullshit (like say someone fucked a dog, got backlashed, then screams about "cancel culture").

I feel conflicted on whether or not I should be rooting for the mob going after Ellis as her justified comeuppance. Or defend what she said on principle for being an innocuous joke. I guess the best action is to root for no one and assume this just a force of nature taking it's course.
Twitter lefties can only really target their own because they're all playing the same game and understand the rules. If they tried a purity test on someone on the right, it wouldn't work because the person on the right just doesn't give a shit about what they have to say. Therefore the only influence Twitter lefties have are making people who already subscribe to their politics step back into line.
