General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

My boy Astel uses Charge Blade(used Switch Axe at first), the only one in entirety of Holo.

My CB autist mind also gets triggered when he doesn't use it to its full potential and prefers to spam the big lightning attacks(I think it's called SAED?) and watch it get whiffed 90% of the time.

tfw CB has good silkbind skill(insta 5 phial shield) and not even use it.
Glad to see he is a man of culture. Charge Blade is absolutely incredible if played right..but pretty shit otherwise. I'm sure he will improve if he sticks with it. It's the most mechanically intense weapon right now.

I always call that the Bloodborne axe. I keep meaning to try it, but I loved LS’s so much in MHW that outside of MP horns I never went any further.

I do find it fascinating that you can tell just how much of a phenomenon MonHun is in Japan that it feels like every single one of the girls already has “their” weapon.

The consensus is that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is still the best game in the series for its sheer amount of content, World is the second best but many prefer it for the new features and QoL improvements, and Rise is similar to World but portable and with less content, right?
I haven't played a MH game since the PSP days but these streams got me in the mood to play again.

Seems Ollie really is a long-time vtuber fan/simp

Hah! I knew being sleep deprived would pay off some day!
I need a fitting condiment to eat my words with. To be honest I don't even know why I was compelled to deny it. I even admitted she would do something like that. Maybe because that it was incorporated into a drawing stream, I knew that half of the ASMR was going to be pen sounds and a part of me didn't want her first ASMR to be that. I felt like I was back in school while I was tabbed out of the stream.

I feel compelled to throw in that Generations Ultimate is still worth playing. It has comparable quantity of content to 4U while also having massive gameplay variety that's unique to it in the form of weapon styles and arts. It's still "classic" MH in that you'll have to live without World's QoL improvements but it was a great send off of the old style.

If you would have to dive into one right now, I'd say World with Iceborne is the way to go. The biggest thing is the simplified armor/skill system makes life SO much easier. So rather than having skillpoints where you have to hit certain breakpoints for skills to activate (ex. needing 10 points in Attack up to hit Attack up (S)), pieces just have ranks and the ranks are cumulative (ex. Gloves have attack + 2, Helm has attack + 2, so you have Attack up +4).

I'd imagine that dealing with a NA company for permissions is infinitely easier than dealing with a JP one and its archaic bureaucracy.
Westerns don't give a shit, almost all the big USA developers gave permits to Cover and indies just don't care and encourage them to play their games, the only weird case i saw was Undertale that for some reason Toby fox gave permits for it and for DELTARUNE, i expect that now they have Microsoft (and Rare) permits Korone can play Jet Force Gemini (Star Twins on JP because Rare believed that pronouncing Jet force gemini in japan was hard)

Or the dreaded day a Holo play Ultima

Fubuki spending 10 hours failing at the awful platforming in Pagan would be hilarious. Although I don't know which of the Ultima games have been translated into moonspeak or if they're even good translations.

With Botan shilling Gamepass I wonder if we'll see them doing collabs playing Sea Of Thieves, would be fun since it's basically designed as a game for people to just fuck with eachother in. I assume Botans thumbnail is just some kind of bespoke art and that she's not playing Gears because if I remember right Gears is straight up banned in Japan due to gore.

Edit: if you want to have a laugh go to pixiv and look up Gears of War, it's very enlightening as to what kind of Japs like the series :tomgirl:

I prefer the name "SEAmonkeys"

anyone else has mixed feelings about mousey 'new' model?
I cant get used to the 2D after having watched her 3D for so long
New mouse took a couple weeks for me to get used to. The model I most associate with her is early 2020 model which I think was her second iteration. I like the new one that seems to be Nyanners-inspired more than the one she had toward latter part of 2020, mostly because the new one she does a lot of faces that come out looking like derp faces, especially when she collabs with other vtubers and tries to look around. I think it's kinda tricky for her to get the tracking stuff really accurate because she already has shit like oxygen tanks tied to her, so that may be why sometimes it looks like her face sticks like it does.

Edit - rewatching the Mel/Merry/Lumi collab. Holy shit this Euro pair might be my favorite collab I've seen Mel involved with and it started out looking bad because their game got fucked up so it was essentially a multi-hour impromptu chill chat stream. Lumi's high energy, Mel's galaxy brain and Merry's dry humor made it perfect.

So Miko and Marine's Tokimeki Memorial stream got privated. I poked around to check why, and here's a little rundown:

-Miko and Marine briefly talked about the plot of a yaoi doujin on stream.

-Author of said doujin had a melt down on twitter saying why are they profiting from his/her work and author is not.

-Author deleted tweets (and also the account?) but others have already gotten screenshots/copy of it.

-It got traction and was used as ammo, mainly against Miko. Apparently people were discussing the legalities of reading doujin on stream and hating on her for making fun of the plot(?). Some people started dislike bombing her recent streams.

-Marine privated the stream so that the issue doesn't go big.

-Its trending on JPN twitter.

Holy moly I actually am in utter disbelief while typing this. I dont think Miko and Marine even read the doujin on stream in the first place, just talked a little about the plot. Is stuff like this really a big deal there?

EDIT: Author backtracked and apologized, saying they should have handled it in private. Kinda reminds me of that Hololive Alternative guy that got booted by Cover.
