From how I've perceived Nutn over the years, yes, this is what he actually thinks.

He's always struck me as quite autistic, mostly a functional kind, but still like he makes some pretty poor judgment socially. There's a photo of him and his wife mourning a miscarriage, dead baby in her arms, sad, sure, but for some reason he decided he would share this with the internet, among a bunch other awkward shit he's said and done.

Sounds about right - the rest of the surplus they sell are absolutely terrible in condition with sewer pipe barrels.
It's bad enough that people who have paid extra for a hand selected piece have had worse examples than the standard.

I stopped by my LGS today to look around and basic bitch no name stripped lowers were going for $250. The gun market is in absolute clown world right now with pricing.

Yeah, all the actual good vendors and manufacturers are backed up to eight months. I wanted to build off an LMT but I can't find one anywhere for a reasonable price.

The main issues with Mitchell's is they hooned the bolts for no fucking reason and threw Yugo slings on Russian capture K98s (which used to be dirt cheap for a long long time), doubled the price, and spammed the word "WWII" in their full-page magazine ads. Their website is completely OOS on rifles right now (because the Russian captures either dried up or ate an import ban) but they still have overpriced Yugo Mauser accessories for sale.
I used to see ads like this all over the place. It's so fucking insulting.

They've done quite a lot - sold 1950s Yugo Mausers as WW2 German issue, converted Yugoslav M48 into K98k(the receiver length gave this away fairly quickly), replaced serial numbers and added stamps, manufacturing sniper rifles advertised as originals, rebarreling Mausers to .308 as "Tanker" rifles, and, though it's a rumor from about a decade ago, may have stamped some rifles with deathshead/SS runes.

1200 for that level of refurbishing is insane. I have a Luger being finished by Thor (one of the top guys in the community) for less than half that.
