Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Despite their contrary opinions (you do you), I'd still sit down and have a drink with HHH or APC (as I would with nearly any of you). It would be entertaining. I have friends of over 40 years that are just like either of them.

Why, you might ask? Simple.

Politics do not override personal friendships. Shared life experiences, families, community. It's a motherfucking shame that this whole country has divided between us and them. I don't see us coming back from this; it will only get worse. Everyone is now being categorized by race, religion, political affiliation. And it's getting worse and only serves to divide.

Me? Fuck, I'm an old hippie. Protested Vietnam, supported the Yuppie movement. But you grow up. And you realize the government is for shit and don't depend on them to give you a corncob to wipe your ass. You change to be conservative because the left keeps swinging toward an extreme that kills any chance for an individual to be themselves without subscribing to a wrong and fiscal irresponsibility that I'll never agree with.

Try to love each other. Try to find some common ground with friends and in your community. At the heart of it, there are some really great peeps, no matter which pill you ingest. This concept is totally lost in current day. The US vs. THEM will in fact be the downfall of this country.

The biggest problem is that the vast crop of leftists today are pretty much lock-step in terms of swallowing the narrative, both youth and boomers included. I have many Leftist friends IRL, and I just find it easier not to talk about politics with the vast majority of them. I find most of their thinking when I do listen to them extremely self-righteous and fundamentalist in its dogmatic insistence on being "on the right side of history."

My problem with @Hollywood Hulk Hogan is not only is he autistic, but he also contributes nothing. @Arm Pit Cream at least consistently posts threads and doesn't spend his time derailing threads with the same hackneyed bullshit lines and ad homs.
