I'm confused as well.

You have reasonable officers, offering to roll the windows down, making statements like, "The way you're moving has me worried", to explain why they're directing him, checking for sharp objects, asking why he's having trouble walking, etc; just your basic SOPs.

I understand liberals don't self-identify as reasonable, for the large swathe of normies in the middle, how can someone possibly watch this and think the officers' behavior was out of line?

Chauvin himself. I'm sure the cross examination would be brutal, but they really have to show this guy as a sympathetic human being, and the jury is going to assume that if he doesn't testify, it's because he can't because he actually did intend to kill Floyd.

Also he should turn on the waterworks for real and express remorse, while walking the tightrope between that and still maintaining he was either justified in what he did, or at least was up to a point, or that he fucked up. Being confused and afraid by an angry mob hooting and hollering is certainly one human way to explain a fuckup like this.

If he can be vulnerable yes, but without having seen much of him, he seems very stoic. I suppose it's a double or nothing situation and I'm a pussy. I wouldn't with how weak the pros. looks right now. I'd worry it would be like the old wrestling a pig proverb.

I've seen the idea floated that the Prosecution are only doing this to pad out a case they know they'll lose.

What if they actually live in the reality where this is compelling evidence in their favor? And what if the jury is made up of people also living in that reality?

OK, so they are showing all of the body cams so they can introduce elements from any of them as evidence and get them all put of the way at once and show the event from different angles. Also to hammer in the emotional element, probably. And the IT guy is there for the sake of the jury to explain technical details like why the sound doesn't start right away. I bet they won't have any questions for this witness, they just want to show the footage. This is for the benefit of both sides so that each can pick apart the videos.

There was no test for responsiveness for awhile. You can hear them arguing with the crowd. That probably even slowed the process down a bit.

This isn't dragged out yet. We're only on day 3 of what's expected to last at least 3 weeks. It's unwise to jump to endgame conclusions at this point. Also don't forget that emotions can make or break a conviction. The jurors are human too. That's the point of having a jury instead of just a judge or a machine.
