Yeah that's one thing growing up/living as a minority when being yourself is different from the norm. You work hard to become the man or women you want to be, but get told by those who should be your peers supporting you that "you're acting white",

I had a black friend in college who was like a real-life Carlton. He was a dean's list student studying calculus and advanced mathematics and the only blacks he associated with were the friends he made in college or his own family. In the larger student groups he hung out with, he was the only black person.

The problem with Naloxone is that it can be a dangerous drug on its own, including side effects like heart attack and death, especially in the doses requred to overcome a major opioid overdose. They don't go around administering it willy-nilly for every suspected OD.
For an EMT to administer it, they have to know what the patient is on, which would have required Floyd admitting opioid use, or at least someone (A firefighter maybe?) on the scene who recognized the specific effects of an opioid OD.

When an individual is raised from birth to have a victim mindset, and blame all their personal shortcomings on some nebulous concept like ‘systemic racism’, it’s rare for them to rise above it. Even more so when to do so would show up their communal grievances as the shams they are.
The ‘born loser so why even try’ attitude blacks have is bullshit. Freakonomics proved that black guys can make more money working at a fried chicken franchise than dealing drugs, with a much lower risk of being shot. But society as a whole wrings their hands over blacks making bad choices like drug dealing as a side effect of ‘white oppression’.
Black America has a serious internal problem that is arguably exacerbated by black/white racial politics, but nothing exists in a vacuum. Blacks are the only racial group that have come to America and progressively done worse over time instead of better. Hell, native Americans were subject to campaigns of attempted genocide and even they have better outcomes than urban blacks.
I’d like to see black culture develop a success mindset and a determination to beat whatever is against them, rather than complaining to the world that everything is someone else’s fault.
